I am happy to share with you our latest publication together with our colleagues from Universitätsmedizin Göttingen https://lnkd.in/eGFXgNKu Although this is only a review article I am particularly proud of what we have to share: There are literally no relevant #invitro models 🧫 for thymomas available. In 2D those cells lose their proteasome, which is key for thymic cells and subsequent tumors and therefore useless for understanding the biology of thymomas. At ASC Oncology GmbH and CELLphenomics GmbH we now have 3 confirmed thymoma models available in our biobank, showing that with our expertise even these hard to grow tumors are within reach (original publication expected to come out soon). Especially for such rare tumors this will be an invaluable resource for researchers world-wide🌍. Within the German thymoma community word spread like lightning and we now receive thymoma tissue for #ReverseClinicalEngineering from Universitätsklinikum Regensburg, Universitätsmedizin Göttingen, and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

Kürzlich hatte ich das Vergnügen, mit Kai Wiedermann von der FUNKE Mediengruppe über den Einsatz von Patienten-abgeleiteten Tumormodellen in der Behandlung von Krebspatienten zu sprechen. Was wir bei ASC Oncology GmbH und CELLphenomics GmbH für den Fortschritt der Onkologie tun und was ich zu dem Thema zu sagen habe, könnt ihr zB im Hamburger Abendblatt oder in der Berliner Morgenpost nachlesen. Danke auch an Dr. Rene Jackstadt vom DKFZ Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum in Heidelberg, der über den Einsatz des #ReverseClinicalEngineerings sagt, dass es aus seiner Sicht noch keine 100-prozentige Garantie gibt. #AACR24 is over and there was so much to learn and discuss. My take-aways are: 1. CELLphenomics GmbH is doing great internationally. 2. FDA is re-working #LDT approvals, which may be a hugh opportunity for ASC Oncology GmbH 3. We have some of the greatest partners, clients, colleagues, and friends in the community. 4. We need strengthening Society for Functional Precision Medicine over in Europe as strong advocate for making precision medicine really a commodity for medical teams and patients.

Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Ulrike Pfohl on winning the Science Slam in Hamburg! She presented the topic of her PhD thesis in front of 500 science enthusiasts.
