Solid-state NMR offers detailed insights into cellulose structure, revealing how the arrangement of glucose units affects material properties. The MAS CryoProbe significantly enhances sensitivity, enabling the analysis of commercial materials like bleached #wood pulp with minimal sample treatment. This allows for the accurate determination of critical parameters such as the crystallinity index and the surface-to-volume ratio, essential for optimizing cellulose-based products.
