🌟 We're excited to share some insights from IdeenExpo 2024! 🌟 From June 8 to 16, 2024, we at BLB - Battery LabFactory Braunschweig had the pleasure of participating in the biannual #IdeenExpo in Hanover at the booth of Technische Universität Braunschweig. This event brought mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology to life for all visitors. Alongside the iPAT - Institute for Particle Technology (Institut für Partikeltechnik) and the elenia Institute for High Voltage Technology and Power Systems, we showcased our latest research in battery production and energy storage.   Visitors to our exhibit enjoyed: 🔋 A virtual lab tour of BLB 🔋 Hands-on experiences with various battery components and cell formats 🔋 The captivating miniature Marx generator, producing high-voltage pulses with flashes and loud bangs 🔋 A model house demonstrating future home energy flows and sustainable electricity generation and storage 🔋 DIY battery assembly using citric acid as an electrolyte   Many thanks to our dedicated scientists, who were on hand to provide insights and discuss the latest advancements in research and development. 🔋 Exciting News in Battery Research! 🌐 Reflecting on the impactful moment when BLB hosted an impressive Canadian delegation 🇨🇦 on Feb 21, 2024 – a significant step in Canada's determined journey towards global battery leadership. Nine German industry leaders, including four cutting-edge cell manufacturers, collaborated to build partnerships, foster innovation, and enhance ther #international #battery #ecosystems. 🤝 Since launching the "Mines to Mobility Strategy" in 2019, Canada has attracted major investments in lithium-ion battery production, leveraging a strong industrial base and rich supply of critical minerals. BLB sees this visit as a chance to connect with Canadian materials producers, fostering international projects and research collaborations. 💡 At BLB, we value working closely with industry to apply our lab knowledge directly to real-world scenarios. Another year full of exciting research activities is over. One figure particularly impressed us this year: 100 million €. This is the amount of third-party funding that BLB has successfully raised since 2015 and has implemented or is currently implementing in over 80 running projects. 100 million € is also the amount that will be invested in infrastructure for research into energy storage and energy conversion by 2027, namely in the Center for Circular Production of Next Batteries and Fuel Cells, BLB's CircularLab and Fraunhofer ZESS. To give these partners and the diverse research behind them a common identity, this year we are founding the Braunschweig Labfactories for Batteries and more, in short: BLB+. We also look back with gratitude on the most important events of the second half of 2023: 1️⃣ On November 6, BLB's CircularLab was inaugurated. The inauguration was also the kick-off event for the IBPC. https://lnkd.in/eP3QrZkw 2️⃣ The International Battery Production Conference (IBPC) was hosted by BLB for the 6th time.
