Info

Audi and bp are joining forces in Formula 1. We are proud to announce the first official partner for the future Audi factory team in F1. The strategic partnership with bp includes the development of the ‘Advanced Sustainable’ fuel as required by the FIA F1 Technical Regulations from 2026 which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions while offering high-performance potential. We have been working closely together for almost two years, co-engineering bp fuels and Castrol lubricants to enable maximum performance from the Audi F1 Power Unit. bp will also supply a range of bespoke Castrol lubricants and greases including Castrol EDGE, Castrol’s most advanced engine oil, for the V6 turbo engine. Electrical components of the Audi F1 Power Unit will benefit from the Castrol ON range of EV fluids. Audi and bp already have a long and successful joint history in motorsport. We are delighted that we can take this special partnership to the next level in Formula 1. #Audi #Formula1 #VorsprungDurchTechnik #technology #sponsoring #partnership

Significant milestones and goals achieved. Work on the Power Unit for AUDI AG’s Formula 1 entry has been underway for more than two years behind closed doors at our Neuburg facility. Today we are able to provide an insight into the current status of the project. After just two years, our Power Unit, consisting of a combustion engine, electric motor, battery and control electronics, is running dynamically on the test bench. The Audi Power Unit has already covered simulated race distances on the test bench. We will soon be doing the same with the entire drive system, which means the combination of Power Unit and transmission. We gained a lot of testing time with the individual components in 2023 and were able to incorporate the experience gained into the next construction stages in parallel. We implemented a very ambitious modernization and expansion of our test facility. Today, we have 22 state-of-the-art test benches at the site. In addition, our fuel development has been running since 2022 with a strong partner who has many years of experience in Formula 1. This is a decisive factor for our project, as the new sustainable fuel for 2026 will have even greater competitive relevance. There have been special milestones almost every month since the start of the project in spring 2022. The fact that our entire team in Neuburg can fully concentrate on the development of the Power Unit for 2026 is an advantage for Audi. #Audi #Formula1 #VorsprungDurchTechnik #technology

“There is a race on track and off track – we want to win them both.” These are the words of Andreas Seidl, CEO of the future Audi F1 factory team, commenting on the appointment of Stefano Battiston as Chief Commercial Officer of the Sauber Group. In his new role, reporting directly to Seidl, Battiston will lead all commercial aspects of Sauber Motorsport and the Audi F1 Project, including marketing, brand & content, partnerships, business development, guest experiences, CRM and data, and merchandise. AUDI AG is forming a new Formula 1 team with a mission of becoming a pioneering platform for brands, opening the door to a culture that will transcend traditional partnerships and customer engagement. #Audi #Formula1 #VorsprungDurchTechnik #AudiCareers #marketing #communications #partnerships

“We are on track.” This is a clear message from Andreas Seidl to all Formula 1 and AUDI AG fans. Talking to the official F1 website in his first English language interview since being announced the CEO of the Audi F1 factory team, Andreas made some important statements: “We are on track, both in Neuburg on the Power Unit side and also for the plans we have in Hinwil. If I look at the progress we are making on the development side, hitting all the milestones we have set ourselves, I feel quite confident we will be ready in 2026.” “On the team side in Sauber, I have taken the last couple of months to work out in detail with the team where do we see the deficits we have here compared to the top teams in F1.” “The first changes have already been made. With our recent announcement of the 100% takeover of Sauber by Audi, we simply can accelerate now this transformation – from a private F1 team to a full works team.” “I’m grateful to the foundation we have in Hinwil, both in terms of the highly skilled and motivated team, but also the infrastructure that we have in place.” “We certainly do not underestimate the task that is ahead of us as a team and we know that it will be a race against time to be as ready as possible in 2026.” “It’s clear that if a brand like Audi is entering F1 – there can only be one goal, which is to ultimately compete for race wins and championships in the future. We are going ‘all-in’.” The Audi F1 Project is a venture unlike any other. While one part of the team works at the state-of-the-art Power Unit development facilities of Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg a. d. Donau (Germany), the Sauber Group factory is located in Hinwil (Switzerland). Audi and Sauber is a strong combination: The expertise from successful Audi factory motorsport programs meets more than 30 years of F1 experience from Sauber. We may have two sites, but we work as one team. Bringing both parties together under one roof here on LinkedIn underscores our approach. There are currently around 600 people working in Hinwil and that number is set to grow. Keep following us – we’ll be ramping up our recruiting shortly and it could be the opportunity of a lifetime you’ve been looking for. #Audi #Formula1 #VorsprungDurchTechnik #AudiCareers

The Audi RS Q e-tron* wins the Dakar Rally! This morning there was huge applause in our “living room” here in Neuburg when Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz reached the finish line of the final stage of the 2024 Dakar Rally and AUDI AG wrote another chapter in motorsport history with the historic first Dakar victory of a prototype with an alternative drive system. We have followed the Dakar Rally with great interest over the last two weeks and have kept our fingers crossed for Audi Sport and the entire Dakar project team. The reason is simple: a large part of our staff in the Audi F1 project consists of former Dakar project team members. They were responsible for the development of the highly sophisticated Audi RS Q e-tron, which has now been victorious in the extremely demanding environment of the Dakar Rally. According to our CTO Stefan Dreyer, the Audi RS Q e-tron is the most technically complex and advanced competition vehicle ever developed at Audi Sport. The drive is purely electric. Two motor-generator units (MGU) – each from the Audi Formula E project – drive the front and rear axles. A third MGU is part of an energy converter that charges the high-voltage battery while driving thanks to the highly efficient TFSI engine from the DTM. Developing such a complex prototype vehicle requires highly qualified technical experts, and we are proud to have them as part of our project team as we take on the next challenge: Formula 1. #Audi #FutureIsAnAttitude #Formula1 #motorsport #technology --- * This vehicle shown here is the Rally Dakar vehicle that is not available as a production model. Closed course, professional driver. Do not attempt.
