#ALDInews | ALDI Netherlands celebrates two years of success with the Herb-Rich Grassland project At ALDI Nord we are fully committed to innovative ways of fostering a sustainable future. Therefore, we’re excited to share the success of ALDI Nederland and the Herb-Rich Grassland project – a collaboration with FrieslandCampina and 43 Dutch dairy farmers.   🐄 When sowing the grassland, different herb mixtures are used, which provide valuable minerals and trace elements beneficial for cow health. Herb-rich grasslands attract insects and meadow birds, thereby enhancing biodiversity. After two years, this initiative is already yielding remarkable benefits for biodiversity and sustainability in the dairy farming supply chain.   🌱 Because herbs have deeper roots than grass, soil quality improves and water is better retained, making the area more resilient to extreme weather conditions. Additionally, the herb-rich grasslands require a reduced use of fertilisers, which benefits the environment and promotes balanced growth of both grass and herbs. Due to the positive impact of this initiative, some farmers have even expanded their herb-rich grassland areas.   🥛 To mark this milestone, ALDI in the Netherlands has released a special edition of our fresh milk under our private label Milsani, featuring a QR code that leads to more information about the project, including interviews with participating farmers.   Congratulations to ALDI Nederland! #ALDIresponsible | ALDI Nord donates to social projects in Essen   At ALDI Nord, supporting communities is important to us. Therefore, the proceeds from this year's summer party raffle at the ALDI Nord Campus were donated to three special social projects in Essen: The Ambulant Hospice Service at the Alfried-Krupp Hospital, the FairSorger Essen initiative and the Werkstätten Frillendorf workshop for disabled people. The donations were handed over personally to each of the social projects that were recommended by ALDI employees.   👉The hospice service at the Alfred-Krupp Hospital supports seriously ill and dying people with compassionate care, aided by around 80 volunteers, including ALDI Nord employee Adrian Geißler.   👉The FairSorger Essen e.V. is another donation recipient, providing essentials like food, clothing and hygiene items to the homeless and needy in Essen's city centre. Our colleague Minh Thu D. supports the organization on a regular basis, supplying them with in-kind donations.   👉A part of the donation also went to the Werkstätten Frillendorf of GSE GmbH near the ALDI Nord Campus in Essen, where over 500 people with disabilities are employed in a workshop. The initiative was recommended by our colleague Annika Küthe, who advocates for workplace inclusion.   Another initiative that received non-cash donations of toys from us is the VKJ Kleine Füße, a children’s home located in Essen.   💙 We extend our heartfelt thanks to all ALDI Nord employees who supported this initiative with all their #ALDIPower!   #donations #community #ALDIemployees #socialresponsibility

#ALDIpower | Family and Friends Day at our ALDI Nord Campus in Essen 👨👩👧👧 Last Friday, our ALDI Nord Campus in Essen opened its doors for family and friends of our #ALDIcrew. This is the second time that our employees were able to show their loved ones their working environment, roam the halls of our Campus together, take part in various product tastings and get a hold of one of our refreshing River Cola as well as our delicious Mucci ice cream.  🙌 A special highlight: Exploring the open space homebases, the co-working spaces, the test kitchen, more than 100 meeting rooms, the gym, the restaurant, the café and the green areas surrounding the building. What an exciting day! #ALDIresponsible | ALDI Poland provided 10,000 Choceur chocolates to support blood donation efforts 🍫 At ALDI Nord, we believe in the power of giving back and supporting communities. In the recent celebration of World Blood Donor Day, ALDI Polska launched the “Sweet that you help!” campaign, donating 10,000 of our Choceur chocolates to the regional blood donation and hemotherapy centre in Katowice.   💉 As a token of our appreciation, each blood donor received a chocolate bar of our private label Choceur. This initiative was aimed at encouraging more people to donate blood. To further raise awareness, ALDI Poland also provided a monthly supply of chocolates to blood donation centres across 13 cities in Poland, along with dedicated posters and stickers on each of the chocolate bars featuring the campaign slogan.   💬 “We are proud to have supported such a vital cause. #ALDInews | ALDI Nord opens new distribution centre in Germany Exciting times ahead for ALDI Nord in Germany as we continue to expand and optimise our logistic operations.   🎉On 9th September 2024 we will officially open our new state-of-the-art distribution centre near Lehrte-Aligse and close to Hannover, marking a significant milestone for the regional company ALDI Sievershausen in Germany.     🚚Here at ALDI Nord, our commitment to efficiency and sustainability is at the heart of this development. The new distribution centre, boasting more than 42,000 square metres of storage space, is designed to meet modern logistical demands and supports our mission to provide fresh, high-quality products to our customers. The facility also includes dedicated areas for fresh produce and meat, ensuring we maintain the highest standards in food quality.   🚀With this project we are not just underlining our commitment to continued growth, but we are also reinforcing our role as a vital and significant employer in the region, ensuring long-term stability for the local community. The opening event on 26th August 2024 was attended by prominent figures, including federal and regional politicians, highlighting the importance of this development for the region. With a lot of humour, the new brand ambassadors underline why it’s worth shopping at ALDI: Whether on television, in leaflets, digitally or in the stores – "AL" and "DI" never tire of emphasizing that our customers get high quality as well as fresh and local products for less.    🚀 With statements like "When we pay less, we save more" or "When shopping is simpler, life is less complicated", the mascots uncomplicate what we sometimes tend to complicate, helping customers associate our brand with an easy shopping experience.   💬 ""AL" and "DI" are simple, like our brand, and come to represent the transparency, trust and honesty that we preserve in the relationship with our customers. With the aim of communicating in a simple way and reinforcing all the benefits of shopping in our stores, they now join the ALDI family and promise to bring a lot of humour to the daily lives of "humans".
