Every time my team and I travel for Facilitation Trainings or Workshops, we always bring our own materials and resources—even if it means lugging around seriously heavy suitcases halfway across the world 😅 Next week, my team and I at AJ&Smart are hosting a special 4-day Facilitation Training in Palo Alto. We'll spend 4 days teaching people about collaboration, why it’s broken, and how Facilitation and Workshopping can fix it. Why do we always bring our own stuff? 1. In case the venue doesn’t have what we need—even things like post-its, sharpies, and voting dots. Venues are often short on these, so we bring our own. 2. We love our own materials. Especially our King Flipchart—we go nowhere without it 😂 We even got it shipped from Berlin to Palo Alto for this training. Yes, we’re that serious about it. Check out all the stuff we're bringing!(I had to hide something with a sticker because it’s a surprise for participants 🥳) Even though it’s a bit annoying shipping and dragging materials around the world, this is going to make the training extra special and memorable for the participants and that's what matters the most to us! Use this MEETING HACK to prioritise ideas quickly One of the biggest problems in meetings where teams have to make a decision is that people often struggle with choosing the correct and most impactful solution to their problem. Typically ideas are not visualised, making it very hard to keep track of what’s been said and also to compare ideas against each other. The end result is a "solution" that may require significant effort, potentially costing a lot of money and time, and might not even be impactful at all. So in this video, Senior Facilitator at AJ&Smart Amr Khalifeh will walk you through one of the most effective meeting hacks/exercises for visualising and prioritising ideas. This is the wildest and most fun icebreaker for large groups we've ever run! A few months back, we invited 50 of the most successful facilitators from our Workshopper Master program to our office in Berlin, and we tested this icebreaker with them. To be honest, we knew it was going to be fun, but we didn't expect everyone to go that wild that fast! So, if you've ever wanted to bring down barriers in a large group quickly and get a team from 0 to 100 immediately, you should definitely try this icebreaker in your next workshop or event.
