🚀Latest Update: The Technische Universität Berlin student team has just won the prestigious Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR) Design Challenge 2024!   💡 Their innovative concept, CHARGE, an electric short-haul aircraft, not only impressed the jury with its sophisticated design, but also set a new benchmark for climate-friendly aviation.   🌍✈️ As the aviation industry undergoes one of its most significant transformations, these young innovators are paving the way for a more sustainable future for air travel.   The DLR Design Challenge 2024 brought together six student teams from top universities, each tasked with designing an eco-friendly aircraft for short-haul routes, a segment responsible for a significant share of aviation's CO2 emissions. The TU Berlin team's CHARGE concept stood out for its comprehensive approach, from energy-efficient design to practical implementation, demonstrating that sustainability and innovation can go hand in hand.   ❗ But the competition wasn't just about winning; it was a unique opportunity for the students to gain hands-on experience, work closely with industry experts, and tackle real-world challenges. Over four intense months, these students invested hundreds of hours in their projects, honing skills that will be invaluable as they enter the aerospace industry.   With aviation at a crossroads, the need for new and disruptive technologies is greater than ever.
