🎉 Radelumin gets marketing approval in Germany! We just received German marketing approval for Radelumin® – our latest radiotracer! Radelumin helps detecting prostate cancer through prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted PET imaging; its radioactive fluorine-18 enables precise visibility of cancer for positron emission tomography, and decays comparatively quickly with few side effects for patients.   💉 Radelumin is already in use in France since December, Germany is the 8th European country to provide marketing approval. Production and application in these 8 countries will start by the beginning of 2024, helping prostate cancer patients with better detection and therapy. NEW biology laboratory complex for quality control at ABX! 🧪 The first eleven containers of our new biology laboratory complex were delivered last week! The construction and assembly work is scheduled to take place throughout October. Some of the laboratory containers will be delivered furnished, so that interior only needs to be completed in certain areas. Once the containers have been assembled and the interior structure is completed, the finished facility will be handed over to the quality control department at the end of November 2024. Following the qualification of analytical instruments, analytics will be gradually established in the new laboratories from February 2025. We are delighted that our analytical capacities will be expanded to offer further analytics to our customers. --- NEU Biologie-Laborkomplex der Qualitätskontrolle bei ABX Die ersten elf Container unseres neuen Biologie-Laborkomplexes wurden letzte Woche geliefert! Planmäßig werden die Arbeiten zum Aufbau und zur Assemblierung den gesamten Oktober in Anspruch nehmen. Einige der Laborcontainer werden bereits mit Möbeln geliefert, sodass der Innenausbau nur noch punktuell ergänzt werden muss. Nach Abschluss der Assemblierung der Container und Ausbau der Innenstruktur wird die fertige Anlage an die Qualitätskontrolle Ende November 2024 übergeben. Nach der Qualifizierung der analytischen Instrumente soll ab Februar 2025 schrittweise die Analytik in den neuen Laboren etabliert werden. Wir freuen uns sehr, dass unsere analytischen Kapazitäten erweitert werden und wir unseren Kunden weiterführende Analytik anbieten können.

MOLECULE OF THE MONTH 📣 The nucleophilic method for production of [18F]F-L-DOPA developed by Coenen et al. uses an isotopic [18F]-fluorine-[19F]fluorine exchange and provides [18F]F-L-DOPA in good yield but with low specific activity [1]. Based on the approach by Coenen et al., ABX developed a new precursor which allows the nucleophilic synthesis of [18F]F-L-DOPA using mild conditions suitable for a disposable kit [2]. The one-pot production with simple cartridge cleaning is a reliable and convenient method for routine clinical production. As the process allows the application of mild temperatures and reagents, only three minor by-products have been detected which are easily removed using SPE to finally provide a solution of [18F]-L-DOPA with high specific activity and enantiomeric purity.
