Serious Hudson Valley Crash Leaves Rider In Critical Condition
A person was hospitalized in critical condition following a serious crash in the Hudson Valley that caused an hours-long road closure. The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Aug. 30 at around 5 p.m., when a motorcycle crashed on Route 22 near the intersection with Route 311, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. The motorcyclist was later taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Hicks said. Route 22 in the crash area was closed until around 8 p.m. on Friday as authorities investigated the incident.

Statewide Alert Issued For 16-Year-Old Girl Who's Been Missing Over A Week
A statewide alert has been issued for a New York girl who's been missing for over a week. Gianna L. Thomas, age 16, was last seen leaving her Franklin County residence on County Road 20 in town of Constable on Saturday, Aug. 24, according to New York State Police. She's described as being 5-foot-7, 117 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes. No clothing description was released. A Hudson Valley man has been hit with grand larceny charges after allegedly stealing wire and other power grid material from a contractor working with a utility company in Northern Westchester, police said. An investigation has led to the arrest of a man in connection to a stabbing outside a bar in Northern Westchester. New York State Police say the suspect, Luis F. Contreras Paredes, age 25, of Peekskill, engaged in a physical altercation and stabbed the victim in Cortlandt on Crompond Road (Route 202) outside of My Second House Bar. on Wednesday, May 29.
