Serious Hudson Valley Crash Leaves Rider In Critical Condition A person was hospitalized in critical condition following a serious crash in the Hudson Valley that caused an hours-long road closure.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Aug. 30 at around 5 p.m., when a motorcycle crashed on Route 22 near the intersection with Route 311, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.  The motorcyclist was later taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Hicks said.  Route 22 in the crash area was closed until around 8 p.m. on Friday as authorities investigated the incident.

The incident occurred in Rockland County around 11:25 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, on I-87 in Clarkstown. Dozens Of Mopeds, Scooters Impounded In Crackdown On Illegal Operation In Westchester Moped and scooter riders in Westchester, watch out—the county's police departments are cracking down on those who operate the vehicles where they are not supposed to. The initiative was announced on Friday, Aug. 16 by the Westchester County Police Department, which revealed that it had impounded a total of 16 mopeds and scooters and written 54 summonses over a week.  According to the department, the effort was meant to address the illegal operation of motorized or battery-powered vehicles on county bike paths and trailways.
