Mark your calendar for September 21st and join us at the Zažít město jinak (Take back your streets) event. Slow down as you pass by our stand and spend some time with us—your body will thank you for it. At our health awareness tent, you'll gain key information on early prevention of cancer, the second leading cause of death in the Czech Republic and Europe. Representatives from the Hlas pacientů will provide details on available screening programs, and you'll even have the opportunity to practice breast and testicular self-examinations on anatomical models. Additionally, you can get your blood pressure, lung function, and capacity measured, and have a specialist check your moles. You'll also learn a lot about nutrition and healthy living. Bring your kids along too—there's plenty for them to enjoy! A bouncy castle, cotton candy, or face painting will be available for them. Delicious refreshments will be provided by Etincelle, Group of Social Enterprises/ Mezi řádky. You can also meet Emedis with their great homemade syrups as well as Lemniskáta with their products made by disabled people. 🌍 September is #GynecologicCancerAwarenessMonth! It focuses on cervical, ovarian, endometrial, vaginal, and vulvar cancers.   Despite over 1 million women being diagnosed with these cancers globally each year, limited awareness persists. This leaves many of them uninformed about the signs and opportunities for prevention, early detection, and effective treatment.   Did you know ❓ ·   Endometrial cancer, also known as uterine cancer, is the most common #GynecologicCancer, around 1,800 new cases are diagnosed annually in the Czech Republic. ·   Cervical cancer and precancer can be prevented through #vaccination against #HPV (Human Papillomavirus). In Czechia 300 women die from this disease each year. HPV is also strongly associated with other cancers like vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancer as well as genital warts. ·   In Czechia, children from 11 to 14 can be vaccinated against HPV for free and adolescents and adults can receive financial contributions for HPV vaccination from their insurance company. The Asia Pacific Association Prague Chapter organized APA Talks in May. APA Talks is an event where leaders share inspiring talks on a wide variety of topics encompassing their experiences and values.  This edition’s topic was “Passion & Compassion”. The team successfully organized a captivating event with talks on a wide range of insightful and thought-provoking topics.  It was incredible to witness the impact of ideas worth spreading, coming to life on our stage. A big thanks to our amazing speakers and everyone who attended, contributing to the event's success.

☀️ The summer sun can take a toll on our skin, making it even more important to get our moles examined. Let's not underestimate the importance of regular mole check-ups and post-summer examinations, as they can help detect #melanoma, the most serious form of #skincancer. Did you know that through regular check-ups and early intervention, patients have up to a 95% chance of recovery? 🩺 💡 The #ABCDE rule can be a helpful way to monitor changes in moles and identify potential warning signs of melanoma: 🔹 Asymmetry,  🔹 Border irregularity, 🔹 Color variation,  🔹 Diameter greater than 6mm, and 🔹 Evolution over time. Don’t forget to inform your doctor about any changes, new spots on the skin, or growths that look different from the rest of your mole. By monitoring changes in your moles and identifying potential warning signs of melanoma, you can play an active role in early detection.

My IT rotation experience in Greece was a transformative journey, offering personal and professional growth as I immersed myself in a new work culture at MSD Greece. Although familiar with Greek culture, this was a unique opportunity to witness how IT projects support business operations. The differences between global and local IT approaches were eye-opening, highlighting the importance of adaptability and collaboration. I had the privilege of observing MSD Greece's impactful role, particularly in their efforts to combat cancer, which further deepened my appreciation for the intersection of IT and business in making a difference. During my time with the analytics team, I engaged closely with CRM data that captured interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs). This hands-on experience allowed me to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and enhance my Qlik development skills. I discovered the critical importance of data accuracy and the challenges faced by Qlik developers, which gave me valuable insights to apply in my future work. The team's mentorship was instrumental in helping me navigate the complexities of data governance, ultimately leading to the successful creation of KPIs that informed business decisions. Reflecting on this experience, I am deeply grateful to the MSD Greece team for their warm welcome and support. This rotation not only enhanced my technical abilities but also reinforced the significance of IT in driving business success. The lessons learned and the relationships built during this time will have a lasting impact on my career, inspiring me to continue striving for excellence in all my future endeavors.
