Our guests experienced firsthand our research infrastructure at the Brno Bohunice Campus and explored new collaborative opportunities across various scientific fields. Big congratulations to Marija Stojic, PhD! 💚 She has successfully defended her dissertation entitled “Bioengineered dermo-epidermal skin grafts with human plasma and elastin-like recombinamers for skin tissue engineering” at CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology Vysoké učení technické v Brně. She defended her thesis online 🎓 Marija has already been working in Clario, specializing in clinical services and customizable medical devices for biopharmaceutical and healthcare organizations for 4 years. 10th IMAPS Flash Conference in Brno – a new step towards the development of the semiconductor industry in the Czech Republic 🚀 On October 24-25, 2024, we hosted the 10th annual IMAPS Flash Conference at CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology BUT. The focus of the conference was on innovations in the semiconductor industry and microelectronic technologies. Organized by the Czech and Slovak section of IMAPS (International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society) in collaboration with Brno University of Technology (Vysoké učení technické v Brně) and the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster, this event highlighted the role of the Cluster in advancing the Czech semiconductor sector 🇨🇿 Led by onsemi from Rožnov, the Cluster brings together top academic institutions, research organizations, manufacturing companies, startups, and innovation centers. A key milestone at this conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between IMAPS and the Czech National Semiconductor Cluster, aiming to strengthen the representation of the semiconductor industry in the Czech Republic 🤝 We are also very happy that the Governor of the South Moravian Region Jan Grolich joined a part of the conference while also enjoying a tour of our CEITEC Nano Research Infrastructure 🙌 Thank you to all partners, speakers, and participants for another outstanding year. The memory of Josef Dadok lives on at CEITEC through cutting-edge research in spectroscopy 🔍 On October 4, 2024, Professor Josef Dadok, the founder of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in Czechoslovakia and a prominent figure in the field internationally, died in the United States at the age of 98. Professor Dadok worked in Brno in the 1950s and 1960s, where he led the development of the first NMR spectrometers at the Institute of Instrumentation of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, later mass-produced by the national company Tesla Brno, making Czechoslovakia one of the world leaders in this field. In 2013, Professor Dadok was awarded an honorary doctorate from Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology (Vysoké učení technické v Brně) for his outstanding contribution to Czechoslovak science and technology. RICAIP Testbed Brno part of a project that brings new digitalisation opportunities for Czech SMEs💡 Czech companies developing AI-based solutions for the industry can now access significant financial support through the #TEF scheme and the AI Matters EU network. With funding from European and national sources, SMEs can benefit from the cutting-edge infrastructure of the so-called industrial testbeds and expertise from technical universities in Prague, Brno, and Ostrava 🤖 RICAIP Testbed Brno at CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology Brno University of Technology (Vysoké učení technické v Brně) is one of the three Czech partners in this project, the other two being Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics at České vysoké učení technické v Praze and Vysoká škola báňská - Technická univerzita Ostrava (VSB).
