The Satechi Thunderbolt Slim Hub brings a trio of very high-speed ports to a Mac, plus it has a USB-A port for other accessories. It’s good enough to earn a CES Innovation Award.
Satechi also used the Consumer Electronics Show to announce a 6-port charger and a USB4 NVMe SSD enclosure.

Connect the dock to a Mac, PC or iPad to access its three Thunderbolt 4 ports. Any of them can transfer data at up to 40 Gbps or drive a high-resolution monitor. The Satechi Thunderbolt Slim Hub can handle two up to 4K screens at 60Hz or one 8K screen at 30Hz depending on the capabilities of the Mac.
Plus, the ports can be daisychained with other Thunderbolt accessories. And they work as USB-C ports for devices that don’t support Thunderbolt. The host computer can receive up to 60W of power, while other devices can get up to 15W.
On the front of the hub is a USB-A port for accessories like keyboards, mice or thumb drives. And despite all its capabilities, the dock doesn’t’t take up much desktop room.
The Satechi Thunderbolt Slim Hub launched today. It costs $199.99, and an introductory 20%-off sale with code CES20 can is available through Jan. 12.
It’s quite similar to the Plugable USB4-HUB3A that is already on the market.
More Satechi accessories on the way
As noted, the hub isn’t the only product Satechi is using CES to unveil. Its 200W 6-Port PD GaN Charger can juice up a whole family’s computers. It’s coming in the second quarter for $149.99. Preorders can be placed now, though. Use code CES20 to save 20%.
And the Satechi USB4 NVMe SSD Pro Enclosure turns a solid-state drive intended for internal use into a an external accessory. It is a CES 2023 Innovation Award Honoree. The product is scheduled to launch in Q2 at $119.99.
