Studie 

Aby Evropský výbor regionů (VR) zajistil optimální informační podporu svých zpravodajů a členů, může se obracet s žádostí o pomoc při vypracovávání vědeckých studií týkajících se určitých témat, jež jsou v oblasti jeho zájmu, na externí odborníky.

Vedle těchto studií, jež zveřejňuje VR, zpracovává zprávy a analýzy, které se týkají konzultační činnosti VR a podporují ji, rovněž výzkumná služba Evropského parlamentu (EPRS). Děje se tak na základě dohody o spolupráci mezi Evropským výborem regionů a Evropským parlamentem ze dne 5. února 2014.
