How to create or generate WSdiag logs using standalone wsdiag tool(a.k.a fsdiag) on Linux Machine?
To retrieve standalone fsdiag logs, follow these steps:
- Download the standalone fsdiag logs from the provided link.
- Unzip the downloaded fsdiag.zip file to access the wsdiag tool.
- Execute the wsdiag tool using the bash command: bash wsdiag
- Allow a few minutes for the wsdiag.12XXXX.tar file to be generated.
- Locate the generated file in the directory /tmp/wsdiag.12XXXX.

fsdiag.tar.gz
file.
Run the following command with root privileges:
/opt/f-secure/fsav/bin/fsdiag
You will find the fsdiag.tar.gz
file in the current working directory.
Run the following command with root privileges:
/opt/f-secure/linuxsecurity/bin/fsdiag.sh
This creates the fsdiag-linuxsecurity-yyyymmddxxxxxx.tar.gz
file under /var/opt/f-secure/linuxsecurity/

- Click Download under Diagnostics. The diagnostics file is saved to the downloads directory that is set for your browser.
- Attach the file to your support request.
- The FSDIAG file contains a log file for each product. If you are using log file rotation, the file extension is different and the log file is not included in the FSDIAG file. In such cases, you may need to provide the log file that corresponds to the date and time of the issue separately.
While the FSDIAG file contains information such as system messages, it only includes up to 300 messages. In some cases, you may need to collect a separate file that corresponds to the data and time of the issue.
