English: Plymouth Sound from the Hoe. Plymouth Sound as a large natural harbour stretching from Bovisand Bay in the East to Cawsand Bay in the West. It is protected by a large manmade breakwater about 3 kilometres south from this viewpoint. Mount Edgcumbe, 38358, in Cornwall, can be seen across the water with Drakes Island, 85903, just in front. The headland in the far distance is Penlee Point, 166405, on Rame Head which is the far side of Cawsand, 116444. To the far left is Grand Parade and in the foreground, the diving platform just to the west of Tinside Lido.
