Hafez (left) in a white dress with a book in his hand, in a thoughtful conversation with the king Abu Ishaq Indjou (Abou Ishâk Indjou) (right). It is likely that the drawing is made from living models according to the introduction by Arthur Guy in Les poèmes érotiques ou Ghazels de Chems Ed Dîn Mohammed Hâfiz, Edition Librairie Orientaliste Paul Geuthner, Paris, 1927 (XVIII introduction page, see note 6).[1]
