Description
English: Arms of James Douglas-Hamilton, briefly 11th Earl of Selkirk and 1st Baron Selkirk of Douglas.
  • Arms: Grand-quarterly of 4, overall a crescent sable for difference:
    • I & IV: Argent, a heart gules imperially crowned proper on a chief azure three mullets of the field (Douglas);
    • II: Quarterly of 4:
      • 1: Azure, a lion rampant argent crowned or (Lordship of Galloway);
      • 2: Or, a lion rampant gules debruised by a riband sable (Lordship of Abernethy);
      • 3: Argent, three piles gules (Wishart);
      • 4: Or, a fess chequy azure and argent surmounted by a bend gules (alternatively sable) charged with three buckles or (Stewart of Bonkyll)
    • III: Quarterly of 4:
      • 1&4: Gules, three cinquefoils ermine (Hamilton)
      • 2&3: A Scottish lymphad with sails furled proper flagged gules (feudal Earls of Arran)
