English: Elgin Mental Health Center, formerly known as Northern Illinois Hospital and Asylum for the Insane, Northern Hospital for the Insane, and Elgin State Hospital, is a psychiatric hospital in Elgin, Illinois, USA. It opened in 1872. The original Central Building was demolished in 1993; other buildings are still in use.
