A good dock, but a very expensive one as well
4 out of 5 stars

A good dock, but a very expensive one as well

In terms of features this dock has a lot to offer. Plenty of front IO, the USB-A are 10Gbps, and the front USB-C does 20W PD. The rear USB-A is 5Gbps instead of 10Gbps (not an issue), 2.5Gbit ethernet, and 2 additional Thunderbolt ports for pass-through. I did test this on a M1 Pro Macbook Pro 14in and a Thinkpad T14s Gen 4 (this has USB4). For the thunderbolt pass-through I tested a Thinkvision P27u-20 w/ its TB daisy chain connected to a Dell U2723QE, with its TB input connected to the dock. This setup worked very well on both the Macbook and the Thinkpad. I also tested w/ a Thunderbolt 3 NVME enclosure and it does hit the max ~2700Mbps that I see in that NVME enclosure if it was directly connected to any computers, so this dock is working as intended. The max power supply is 90W instead of the full 100W. This feels like a missed opportunity, since a lot of Windows laptops that comes factory with a 100W power supply usually needs the full 100W of power. 90W means that any Macbook Pro should be fine, and technically this is the highest wattage supported by a 95x0 and 97x0 Dell XPS 15/17 that's not Dell's own 130W standard. The 20W front USB-C means that if you have lots of data you transfer from an iPhone 15 Pro, you can get a full USB3 speeds while charging if you have your phone connected with a proper USB-C cable. If you want to turn off the dock there is a power button which cuts off data and power to the connected device. I can't imagine a use case for it myself since if I need to "turn off" a dock it's because I need to take my laptop somewhere and I have to unplug the laptop anyways, but hey, it's a nice to have. The power supply is something I have a bit of a gripe with. It has one of the biggest ferrite bead I've ever seen, and even though you can try, it does hinder cable management a bit. The cable from the PSU to the dock also feels a little bit short. Considering this is a dock that might have to run an entire length of a table for cable management, this feels a bit of a downside. The PSU itself at least seems pretty well built, it's a 180W 21V8.57A unit, UGreen makes decent chargers, and this power supply seems to be good. I didn't observe any coil whine from this dock which is great. The price is quite steep. At the time of this review it's $320, apparently it does drop occasionally to $304. This brings it to the price range of the OWC Thunderbolt Go dock, which has less IO options but still has 2 Thunderbolt pass-through output like this Revodok, and has an integrated power supply. The intention of an integrated power supply is to make the thing easier to lug around, but it also has the side effect of making cable management easier. I guess considering the robust IO the Revodok does deserve the premium that it demands, but for some people, at this price point, the OWC Thunderbolt Go might be a better options. At the end of the day, yes it's expensive, yes it's very well built, and yes the features are excellent, and the only downside, for me, being the power supply.

I've owned this for over a month now and it's met or exceeded all of my expectations. I'm using this dock with a 16" MBP M3 Max driving two 32" 4K 144+ Hz monitors and basically every port is in use.

First and foremost is that all the connections are solid and consistent. There are no random drop outs, flickering, or other signs of instability that I've experienced with prior TB docks. There's nothing worse than a TB dock that has random connectivity issues, often at the worst times.

Waking from sleep works consistently, which is huge. I can reliably wake my laptop and monitors via either my mouse or keyboard, both of which are wireless. Out of the hundreds of times doing so there have been just a handful of anomalies where I've had to disconnect and reconnect the laptop, but those have been so infrequent they could've been software based / MacOS issues rather than due to the dock.

The dock itself gets a bit warm but nothing out of the ordinary. I do wish there were more USB and perhaps another DisplayPort available, but the ports themselves are well spaced and any more likely would require a larger sized chassis.

At the end of the day, yes it's expensive, yes it's very well built, and yes the features are excellent, and the only downside, for me, being the power supply.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good dock, but a very expensive one as well
Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2024

The second monitor for my M3 Max Macbook is stuck at 30hz when running through the dock. If I plug all the individual Thunderbolt cables into the laptop itself there's no issue but if running through the dock it always throttles the second monitor. Garbage product. Avoid

This thing has the capability to be connected to a ton of devices. The biggest thing that sets it apart is that it is capable of connecting to a multitude of advanced display devices. The biggest disappointment is that it only capable of running one 8K device at 30fps. Considering this is made for advanced display devices, 30fps isn't as fast as I expected. That being said. It is capable of running two 4k devices at 60Hz which is a much better frame rate. The dock also offers 90W high speed charging. Overall, this is a bit of overkill for some users, but if multiple advanced displays are part of your set up, this would not be a bad choice even though frame rate could be a bit better.

This docking station really is the nicest I've ever seen, both aesthetically and functionally. Its brushed silver case looks elegant on a desk and matches nicely with the brushed silver finish of my laptop. It offers incredible connectivity with the 13 ports. Instead of always having to plug in a bunch of things into my laptop when at my desk, I just plug in one cord and everything's right there. External drives and other peripherals can utilize one of 7 different USB ports including 2 top speed Thunderbolt 4 ports. There are various other ports that I don't personally need, but even though I do have one on my laptop I appreciate the SD card reader in the docking station. It's much easier to insert cards on it as opposed to finding the thin slot on the edge of my laptop on a desk. It just makes everything really easy and I feel as soon as I plug it in I have more than doubled the capabilities of my laptop with just one connection. Just having this docking station has me thinking of adding an external monitor because of how easy it would be to use without having to plug it in every time.

I bought this to use with a 2018 Mac Mini (Intel chip set). I am using an Apple thunderbolt cable between the UGREEN Revodok Max 213 and my Mac Mini. I am using the correct ports on both devices for input and output, but haven't been able to get it working yet. Watching YouTube videos and exploring UGREEN's website--not a lot there that is helpful. I am confident that I will get this working, but not there yet. Can't recommend this product until I get it working.

After going through my share of docking stations, this one worked out of the box. Had no problem switching between windows and Mac . So far so good.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective Power Supply
Reviewed in Canada on July 21, 2024
As soon as I received the product, it seemed like the tape seal had been removed and then reapplied. The unit itself looked clean, but the power brick had scuffs. However, I would have been okay if the product had worked properly. Funny enough, it functioned for only 10 minutes before it stopped working. It seems there is an issue with the power supply, as it wouldn’t even turn on. I noticed similar issues in other review comments. I consider myself fortunate to have discovered the problem before the return window closed. I normally don’t write reviews, but I wanted to give others a heads-up as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Accidentally keep pressing the power button while putting cables in front!
Reviewed in Canada on July 19, 2024
Initially, I was quite happy to get this dock to replace my other 3 (and very hot) hubs that always clutter my MacBook Pro. Built super durable and sleek, this beast is powerful but not that perfect.

Upon putting in and taking out cables at the front, my hands kept accidentally pressing the power button, which is located at the front top. Although it quickly got all the connections back, I wonder if it will be a problem later on during rendering or copying files. I also wished it had an additional audio plug in the back, similar to its competitor, Caldigit. Unfortunately, this will be a return.
