It works right out of the box and charges at 96w. As a bonus there is no subpar DAC/audioport or subpar ethernet port which keeps the design small and clean. Those are typically of such low quality that they are quickly replaced by a separate dongle by demanding users. I wanted sufficient ports for 2x 4k HDR displays with VRR, a keyboard, a mouse and sufficient power to charge my demanding laptops. There are no extra ports that I don’t need, there are no drivers needed, there is no displaylink with its downsides, just a simple dock that can charge my laptops all in one cable. As long as it will pass the test of time, this is the perfect dock for my use case. Would recommend.

Style: Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub - 60WVerified Purchase

As others have said, it does come with a power brick. But the good thing is, it's in the middle of the power cord. You don't need to worry about it blocking another plug, or having all that weight hanging. It's easier to manage. At least for me.

But the issues I have with it are the placements of the ports. This could have been thought out better and it made organizing my desk a bit harder. The port that needs to run to your laptop is on the front of the device along with a single USB-A port. They needed to flip these two and place on the back, and bring the 3 other USB-C ports to the front.

The power cable coming into the device, the power cable running to the laptop, and my webcam (USB-A) will ALWAYS be plugged in. What's going to be constantly swapped are the 3 external hard drives (USB-C). It would have been nice if only those three were on the front, so I could have a nice clean look. With this, I'll always have to have a cable plugged in and run it around the back no matter which side I have facing out. Even if they would have put the Power-in port on the side of the device, that would have been much better.

- Macbook Air, 2020, Intel chip: two Apple Studio Displays. The laptop itself can only handle a single.
- Dynabook Portege X30-G: two Apple Studio Displays. Although the laptop has two thunderbolt ports, it could only handle one display.

I purchased this Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Hub Slim Pro (96W) to use with an HP EliteBook 840 G10 and the Teamgee Triple-14 portable monitor. The Thunderbolt hub provides pass-through power to the laptop and connects to the dual screens with Thunderbolt cables.

The only downside to the hub is the power supply which is a little bulky, but does provide 96 Watts of charging power to the laptop! However, I knew about the large power supply before purchasing because of previous comments, but needed the additional power for the laptop. If you don’t need that much power, you might consider the 60 Watt version.

PROS: Slim, very stable, works with iPad Pro 11 4th generation M2 and Microsoft Surface 7 USB C. It also charges the iPad and Microsoft Surface at the same time.
CONS: Huge power supply, cannot take the hub for traveling, need more USB ports. No on/off switch and power LED

Edit: I just discovered that the USB 3.2 is not powered by the unit power supply. I charged my iPhone using the USB 3.2 overnight without the iPad connected to the host and the next morning, I discovered my iPhone battery was lower than the night before I charged it.

I got this and an OWC Thunderbolt 4 hub. This is the one to have, simply because it just works out of the box. I connect two Apple Displays to my MacBook Pro M1 Max. Absolutely zero issues!

Very pleased - purchased on 40% off (though worth the price) to replace a finicky Dell WD15.
Very impressed. Small footprint, but worked immediately, delivers power (limited to 60W so do be cautious if you have a higher wattage machine) and runs both my screens (27" 1440p 165Hz, 27" 1440p 75Hz), peripherals through type c to USB dongle.

Only thing to note is that it does only have 1 USB-A port, so make sure you've got a dongle if you have additional peripherals.

Overall, very pleased.

Decent Product But Having Some Issues with Dual 4k 60Hz + USB Hub Bandwidth

I bought this product when it was on sale. I'm using dual monitor setup, main 3840x1600 @85Hz through HDMI, and second 2560x1440@144Hz through HDMI. I also connect a 4-USB KVM to the USB A port at the front of the dock. When everything is connected, I noticed heavy stuttering. Shortly after that both of my screens start to flicker (for several seconds). When the flicker ends, one of the monitor's bandwidth is cut by half. Either my main monitor is capped at 30Hz or my second monitor is capped at 60Hz, either of which is roughly the bandwidth of 4K 30Hz. Therefore, I doubt it could output dual 4K signals without any issues. It sill might be a great product if you don't need dual 4k 60Hz, but it kinda contradicts what it advertised.

Update: I have disconnected Corsair ST100 RGB and Benq Scrennbar Halo from the usb hub cause these 2 draw too much power. I have also swapped my "future proof" hdmi 2.1 to usb c cable to hdmi 2.0 (because somehow the hdmi 2.1 cable also overheats a lot). After that the hub seems to be functioning well. I'll test it for another couple of days to see if it's stable.

Update2: After using it for another day, it still occasionally freezes for 1-2 seconds, even though I have only one mouse and one camera (not using) connecting to the usb hub. I'm not sure if this is capped by my thunderbolt 3 laptop or the dock itself. Connecting the usb hub directly to the laptop would alleviate the issue a lot, but it also defeats the purpose of having a clean, cableless docking station.

TL;DR: the dock has some issues when connecting to 2 4K 60Hz (or equivalent bandwidth) video sources + multiple usb devices. The more you connect to the usb hub, the worse the freeze happens. It would be fine if you disconnect one of the above three, so either single 4k 60Hz monitor + usb hub, or dual 4K without usb hub. However, I personally don't think it' worth it paying CA$ 200 for this. My old thunderbolt 3 to dual HDMI 2.0 adaptor works better than this (only drawback is separate cable for usb hub and power supply. I'm returning it.
