Fei-Fei Li stated that the most important use of a tool as powerful as #AI is to augment humanity, not to replace it. In an interview with McKinsey about #humancenteredAI, she said, ‘when we think about this technology, we need to put human dignity, human well-being—human jobs—in the center of consideration.’ If you are interested in how corporate decision makers are preparing for a future with AI, don’t miss our Sep 12 WE Forum in Shanghai. 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/efcZYkSZ #womenempowerment #inclusion #DEI #WEForum Su Cheng Harris Simpson, Diane Ho

What a great accomplishment for #WomenAthletes!! Congratulations to all the women who are not only competing but also showing off their talents in the up coming #Paris2024. It’s a sign that #GenderEquality is really catching on, even in sports! At WEC, we also support diversity, equity, and inclusion #DEI. By inspiring leaders to think more inclusively, we're building #ABetterWorld where has the opportunity to thrive. Huge props to all the #WomenAthletes who made this happen, and let's keep pushing for a world where gender is not a barrier to #success. In the past, WEC has hosted an event to highlight and promote initiatives focused on DEI via 2023 WE Awards, themed "Leveling the Playing Field to Win Equality for All”. It was a resounding success, with over 400 participants and guests in attendance. Li Na, the first Asian competitor to win a Grand Slam, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, stating, "Our abilities far exceed our imagination. It starts with having an idea and then taking action." She encouraged girls to have more self-belief and confidence, and emphasized the importance of family nurturing, saying, "one plus one is greater than two," meaning that men must be aware of the need for mutual assistance and support in family life. The event also launched a white paper on the impact of career planning on Chinese women's family planning decisions and recognized finalists in seven award categories, celebrating achievements in promoting gender equality. The Women Empowerment Council's #GirlsinSTEMM program visited Hewlett Packard Enterprise China's headquarters on March 26. Students from four Beijing international schools explored HPE's history, culture, and innovation in technology. Michael Zhu, HPE's Global Vice President and Managing Director of China, welcomed the students, emphasizing HPE's support for STEMM education and women in tech. Echo Li, the Human Resources Director, discussed HPE's corporate culture and #genderequality initiatives. A highlight was the Mini Laboratory session, where students dismantled and reassembled servers to complete connectivity tasks led by instructors Wanjin Jia and Qian Yun. This hands-on experience fostered teamwork and interest in hardware technology. Students also participated in a Truth or Dare game with executives. Michael Zhu and some outstanding female executives shared their growth stories, encouraging students to pursue dreams, set goals, and learn from failures. #AI was another key topic. Students discussed AI's impact on learning and future tech roles, impressing representatives with their AI usage for #efficiency and program training. “I think the coolest thing is the office environment, the equality between male and female employees, and how the office is structured to provide employees with the view of the outside world while working.” -- Girls in STEMM project student Canadian International School of Beijing (@CISBeijing), Dulwich College Beijing, International School of Beijing, Keystone Academy, Beijing Su Cheng Harris Simpson, Diane Ho, Mengdi (Mandy) TAO #DEl #GirlsinSTEMM #WomenEmpowerment #HPEChina #HPE #STEMM #STEM #WomenLeadership #GenderEquality #WomenInSTEM #GirlsInScience #WomenInScience #UnconsciousBias #Awareness #CSR #ESG #artificialintelligence #generativeai #future

As a global courier giant, FedEx champions gender equity in STEMM, promoting women's representation and leadership. Since November 2023, FedEx Express China has partnered with Women Empowerment Council on the #GirlsinSTEMM Project, linking classroom learning with real-world STEMM applications to close the gender gap. Girls in STEMM visited the FedEx PVGH factory, gaining insights from women leaders and hands-on experiences. The event began with a speech by FedEx VP, poh-yian koh, who shared her inspiring journey from engineer to leader, proving that dedication and passion know no boundaries. The girls then explored four main areas in PVGH: the Experience Center, where they learned about FedEx operations and aircraft systems; the VIP Room, where female leaders discussed overcoming industry barriers; the Aircraft Model and Rooftop, providing insights into logistics; and the Sort System Tour, showcasing package handling processes. This visit offered interactive experiences and inspired future women leaders in STEMM. With great honor, the Women Empowerment Council brought girls from four international schools to visit PwC Mainland China and Hong Kong, located in Beijing's Central Business District (CBD). The first stop was the office area, where students experienced PwC China’s high-tech and user-friendly workspace. 张慧晞 Dora Cheung, a PwC China Partner, welcomed the students, sharing her growth journey and PwC’s commitment to gender equality and STEM. Another executive, Lisa R Li, shared how her art design hobby complemented her career and inspired her work at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She encouraged the girls to pursue their dreams. PwC China’s young representatives prepared a case study on "data security protection," allowing students to develop solutions and receive feedback. This exercise provided a deeper understanding of business operations and sparked interest in technology and business. During a sharing session, young female representatives and a male ally from PwC discussed their academic experiences, #careerplanning, and #worklifebalance, inspiring the students with their success stories. PwC China’s Diversity team also prepared students keychains made by disabled colleagues, reflecting their commitment to corporate social responsibility. The event offered valuable insights into modern office environments, the business world, and the growth experiences of PwC talents. It broadened the girls' horizons and enthusiasm for Maths and business.
