We've been busy delivering our Star Cool service training across New Zealand, helping nearly 60 technicians in Auckland, Tauranga, and soon in Christchurch enhance their skills in maintaining and servicing Star Cool units. Yesterday, more than 50 of our colleagues participated in the DHL Stafetten in Aabenraa, Denmark 🏃♂️ We were pleased to see our Star Cool event reefer in action, effectively maintaining optimal temperatures to keep the lunch packages fresh for over 8,000 participants 🥗❄️ It’s inspiring to see an event that promotes healthy activities like running and walking, and it's encouraging to witness so many people coming together to participate. Kicking off our Star Cool Roadshow in Qingdao! ❄🚛 Last Friday, we hosted the first of our roadshows. On Saturday, colleagues from MCI had the opportunity to visit the newly christened vessel, Antonia Maersk, at Aarhus Harbor. 🚢   This vessel, partially powered by methanol, represents a significant step forward in sustainable maritime practices - a focus that resonates with MCI’s commitment to decarbonizing reefer container operations by reducing their impact through improved energy efficiency and the application of more sustainable refrigerant types. ♻️❄ #Sustainability #Decarbonization #Energy #Efficiency

Starting January 1, 2025, intermodal containers sold for domestic use in the United States must comply with new regulations mandating the use of refrigerants with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than 700. 🌍🌡️ The regulatory change is expected to significantly impact the intermodal container industry, which imports several thousand reefers annually into the US. While most machines use R134a as refrigerant, the GWP of 1430 makes it non-compliant to the regulation.
