In the third of our country law updates, we look at Italy's implementing Act and some of the key points you need to know: 🔹 **Registration Deadline:** The entities listed in Article 42 of the Decree must register by 17 January 2025 via the digital platform provided by the National Competent Authority NIS. 🔹 **Infosec requirements:** The Decree sets out additional cybersecurity risk management measures, mandating notification procedures as part of incident management 🔹 **Main Establishment Principle:** Italy has implemented the main establishment principle. ⚖️📚 Exciting news! We're thrilled to announce the launch of a new pro bono project from our Manchester office in partnership with Schools Consent Project. 🚦 Team Fieldfisher is training lawyers to deliver impactful workshops to secondary school students, focusing on the importance of consent in relationships, mutual respect, and reducing the potential for harm. The first training sessions took place at our Manchester office last week which was then followed by an online session this week. It's inspiring to see this project taking root outside of London, and we're committed to expanding this important work across the UK. Fieldfisher's Tech and Data practice has been working with local counsel to track the implementation of NIS2 across Europe. In the first of our country law updates, we look at Hungary's implementing Act and some of the key points you need to know: 🔹 **Registration Deadline:** The deadline for registration passed on 30 June 2024. From 18 October 2024, penalties for failure to register will apply, with fines up to €375,000 compared to €37,500 for late registration 🔹 **Management Liability:** Upper management of in-scope entities will be liable for NIS2 compliance. Their responsibilities include defining the role of the person responsible for cybersecurity 🔹 **Main Establishment Principle:** Hungary did not implement the main establishment principle which is at odds with the NIS2 approach, as a result affected parties will need to register in Hungary and comply with Hungarian Cybersecurity Act Look out for more country updates from our team coming shortly to stay informed and ensure your organisation is compliant with the latest regulations.
