Ponderosa Pants

I measured myself. Picked the appropriate sit and fit for my measurements. I received them quickly in the mail. Tried them on. I knew they would be long so I rolled them up. And I kept rolling and rolling to meet the capri length. I tried them on had too much fabric in the cuffs plus I also hem the . Love that you has plus sizes. Not inclusive to us short girl.

These pants are excellent in most ways. For me, the fit is slightly better than the new ones. They fit well with just a little less extra space (but still enough space!). It’s like they are a half size smaller than the new cut of the same size. I do have 3 complaints/preferences where I see room for improvement.
1) The zipper opening to the thigh pocket on these is a bit narrow. I can get my phone in and out but my hand will barely fit in. This has been fixed on the newer model.
2)I really wish they had belt loops. I prefer a real belt that I can clip things to and that stays put. I find the adjuster buckle for built in belts tends to slide and loosen (although the buckle on this pair stays put MUCH better than the new ones I have).
3) Dual thigh pockets. I like to not sit on things so really don’t use back pockets and I really wish there was a left side thigh pocket for my wallet. Plus this would make them more inclusive of left handed people!

Great pants though!

These pants have all the features I've been looking for (airy but not baggy, roll up cuffs, plenty of pocket space, belt) plus they are lovely colors, good material, and "slimming" as my partner said the moment I appeared in them. Special thanks for the Mountain fit!! Please keep it!

The only thing I would ask for is to have the option of a lower level for the roll-up cuff.

More on the features and why they are great below.
* I need to wear knee braces when I hike downhill. Some of my knee braces are very long (up to 1/2 thigh) and thick. The pants need to leave me space, and (preferably) to allow me to put the kneebrace on without taking the pant off :)
* I find that hiking pants that leave some air between themselves and my body work much better. They keep me cool on hot days and amazingly warm on cold days. It's true they look bulky and graceless, but they make me comfortable.
* I also like to have larger side pockets for liner gloves, camera, candy, sunglasses, .. (we are talking hiking not climbing). The reason is that even in winter, going uphill, I rarely have a jacket on so the pants have to do all the cargo. I also take gloves and hat off/on a lot. Another reason for looser pants; in fact I have sometimes bought men's pants because they seem to give more pocket space and be slightly wider.
* Pants that go down to the boot are too long for me. In complicated terrain it's easy to trip on them or to hook them into branches when bushwacking. This part also gets really dirty, and with my boots that fit snugly on the ankle that section of the pant is unnecessary. So I really appreciate the "capri" option in these pants. The only thing I wish for is to have another lower button and loop to hitch them.

Love the fit and the built in webbed belt but, don’t like that the belt is off to the side of center. It just makes it kind of weird.

I absolutely love these! The fit is perfect, they are incredibly comfortable and great for being on the move. My only wish is for the main pockets to have zippers and for more colors! Totally recommend!
