News Reporter Intern

Part-time internship

5 Star Media Group in Clarksville is offering a semester-long reporter internship to an eager journalist-in-training for the online news site ClarksvilleNow.com. The intern will work primarily in local government news reporting, alongside a seven-member news team.

Typical duties will include:

  • Learning the ins and outs of local government journalism.
  • Reporting and writing news articles under the guidance of editors.
  • Taking photos to accompany reports.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be enrolled as a college student in journalism, communications or a related field. (Required)
  • Possess top-notch writing ability.
  • Have a willingness to learn and grow through constructive feedback.
  • Have teamwork skills for effective work in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Saga Communications, operating in Clarksville, Tennessee, as 5 Star Media Group, is looking for a morning show co-host for The Beaver 100.3. Beaver Country’s 100,000-watt signal covers Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. 5 Star Media Group’s studios are based in Clarksville, just 45 minutes north of Nashville, and the community is home to Fort Campbell, Austin Peay State University and an expanding industrial complex including Google, Amazon, LG Chem, Hankook Tires and Bridgestone.

This position represents joining a talented team and a media group that consists of nine radio stations and an industry-leading fully staffed online news department.
