مشکەکوێرە شیردەرێکی بچووکە کە لەگەڵ شێوازی ژیانی ژێرزەویدا دەگونجێت. جەستەیان وەک ستوونی، پەڕێکی مەخمەلی، چاو و گوێچکەیەکی زۆر بچووک و نادیار،^[١] ئەندامەکانی دواوەیان کەم بووەتەوە، ئەندامی پێشەوەیان کورت و بەھێزە و پەنجەی گەورەیان ھەیە کە بۆ ھەڵکەندن گونجاون.

وشەی «مۆل» ئاماژەیە بۆ ھەر جۆرێک لە خێزانی Talpidae، لە وشەی لاتینی بۆ مۆل، talpa.^[٢] مشکەکوێرە لە زۆربەی ناوچەکانی ئەمریکای باکوور و ئەورووپا و ئاسیادا دەبینرێت.^[٣]

ڕەنگە مشکەکوێرەکان وەک زیانبەخشێک بۆ باخەوانان سەیر بکرێن، بەڵام بەشداری ئەرێنی لە خاک و باخچە و ئیکۆسیستەمەکاندا دەکەن، لەوانە ھەواگۆڕکێی خاک، خۆراکدان بە کۆتر و بوونەوەرە بچووکەکان کە ڕەگی ڕوەکەکان دەخۆن و دابینکردنی نێچیر بۆ گیانلەبەرە کێوییەکانی تر. کرمی زەوی و بێبڕبڕە بچووکەکانی تر لە خاکدا دەخۆن.^[٤]^[٥]
