Suspect held in wounding of woman in South Shore

A man was arrested Sunday after a woman was found with a head injury in South Shore and later died, according to Chicago police.

Officers found Demarie Williams, 19, unresponsive with a head injury in the 6900 block of South Oglesby Avenue about noon, police said. A person was taken into custody, and charges are pending, police said.

The incident is under investigation.
