Alvah H. Chapman, Jr. becomes the founding Chairman of Chapman Partnership’s Board of Trustees (1992-2008).
Chapman Partnership opens Miami-Dade County’s first Homeless Assistance Center in Downtown Miami zoned to serve 500 nightly residents. In addition to shelter, residents access case management, an onsite medical clinic operated by Jackson Health System, Head Start for infants and toddlers ages birth to 5, and a Family Resource Center providing afterschool and summer programming for children in grades K - 12.
Chapman Partnership opens its second center in Homestead, increasing the number of residents served to 800 nightly across two centers, and replicating all services as provided at Chapman Partnership Downtown.
Chapman Partnership begins operation of a Mobile Dental Unit in partnership with Southeastern Mobile Dental Services, providing onsite access to a complete array of preventive and restorative dental care performed by a full-time dentist and two dental assistants.
Chapman Partnership expands services to include mental health in partnership with Jackson Health System, providing access to onsite psychiatric care.
The Parent Institute, a program of the Family Resource Center, is launched to empower parents with the information they need to become their child’s primary advocate through educational and recreational workshops and field trips.
Chapman Partnership launches the Young Adult Career Academy (YACA), offering paid internships that focus on job readiness and training for residents ages 14-24.
Chapman Partnership unveils Empower You, the 5-day workforce orientation and job-readiness training program, designed to develop key soft skills essential to career success.
Chapman Partnership launches a new wave of upgrades and renovations at it centers, kicking off Chapman 2.0 by modernizing the Resident Intake Lobbies, Dining Rooms, Children Playgrounds and All Resident Dorms- including the creation of the Youth Dorm for unaccompanied young adults, ages 18-24.
Chapman Partnership collaborated with Florida International University to offer a 14-week construction trades program, at the Chapman Partnership Downtown Miami Center. As part of the Social Enterprise Academy’s Workforce Trades track, the program empowers residents to meet the high demand of trade labor in the Miami-Dade community. Upon graduation our residents will receive five nationally recognized certifications as well as support for job placement.

The Board of Trustees for Chapman Partnership includes a large number of prominent civic, religious and business leaders from within the community dedicated to assisting the homeless of Miami-Dade County and finding innovative solutions.
