⛈ People in Valencia faced a year of rainfall in 24h Following discussions with Zurich Insurance in Spain, as well as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC and the Spanish Red Cross, our Urban Climate Resilience Program partners in Valencia, we activated our Crisis Response and Recovery Fund to support immediate relief efforts driven by the Spanish Red Cross. Water levels rose rapidly, catching many residents off guard. Emergency services, including the Spanish Red Cross, mobilized quickly to assist with evacuations and provide shelter, essential supplies, first aid and psychological support to the thousands of people affected. Young people are facing an invisible mental wellbeing crisis. Our vision is a world where all young people are equipped with the tools and information to promote positive mental wellbeing. In an interview with HZ Insurance, Gregory raises awareness about the importance of creating a movement and how we work with UNICEF Schweiz und Liechtenstein to spark global action to promote young people's mental health and wellbeing.

What do surf therapy and hairdressing have in common?   Both are utilizing innovative approaches to promote mental health and wellbeing for young people.   A year ago, together with Rethink Ireland, Health Service Executive and Zurich Ireland, we launched the HeadStart fund – to support initiatives that focus on mental health, enhanced wellbeing and increased resilience for youth in Ireland.   We are excited to showcase the incredible initiatives of two HeadStart awardees: Liquid Therapy and Hair Together CLG.   Liquid Therapy helps young people build resilience through social connection, surf therapy, and nature - bringing youth together for beach workshops and surfing activities.   Hair Together addresses the root causes of youth mental health challenges. Their 10-week program in Ballymun combines evidence-based wellbeing techniques led by a psychotherapist with hairdressing and barbering training, helping young people build self-confidence and learn a trade   We are so proud of all the awardees of the HeadStart Fund and what they have accomplished in just one year! Collaboration on innovative solutions is key to ensuring positive wellbeing for every young person.

🚀Creating opportunities and cultivating independence   APSN Centre for Adults (CFA) is dedicated to helping individuals with mild intellectual disabilities secure meaningful jobs through vocational training.   But this is more than a training program, it’s a community of support – the sessions foster social inclusion, reduce isolation, and enhance trainees' sense of belonging. Activities like board games and outdoor exercises make learning enjoyable and stimulate creativity.   Since the start of 2024, 80 Zurich Insurance employees have volunteered for more than 700 hours at CFA. These regular volunteering sessions, now an integral part of CFA, have had a transformative effect on the trainees’ lives.   Together with Zurich Singapore, we are providing funding, skills, resources and advocacy to support APSN's training programs and skills development curriculum.    With the right support, every individual can thrive.   #EnablingSocialEquity
