Hosted in collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore, the event was a resounding success! ⭐️ The evening began with the Thought Leaders Sessions, where global experts delved into key theses from the collaborative blueprint publication coordinated by FIND, Pathways 2035 for Financial Innovation: Your Navigator. #staytuned: the full insights will be available soon! Eva Selamlar-Leuthold, Head of Swiss Financial Innovation Desk, alongside C Grisard Barbour and Johs. Hoehener from the organizing committee, introduced and concluded the sessions, setting a dynamic and insightful tone for the exchange of ideas. 💡The discussions sparked thought-provoking debates, with participants passionately exploring and debating not only today’s landscape but how we can anticipate future trends to build impactful and inclusive financial systems. 🌍 How to become a global leader in green digital Finance 🌍 Switzerland aims to become a global hub for green digital finance by 2030. The Green Fintech Network (GFN), launched at the Point Zero Forum 2023, already consists of over 50 members committed to sustainable finance. 📣 Update: The Swiss Government adopts dispatch on agreement with the UK on mutual recognition in financial services. The agreement is the first time two countries have concluded an international treaty on the equivalence of their respective legal and regulatory frameworks in selected financial areas. It will enable or simplify access to the other party's market and is supplemented by an enhanced regulatory and supervisory cooperation, which will ensure stability, integrity and the protection of clients. It covers the recognition of equivalence in the areas of banking, investment services, insurance, asset management and financial market infrastructures for sophisticated clients Before this agreement can enter into force, it must be approved by the parliaments of both nations.  🏦 Annual Banking Barometer released   Swiss Banking - Schweizerische Bankiervereinigung concludes in its annual Banking Barometer that the banks in Switzerland performed well overall last year. However, their results must be seen in the context of one-time effects relating to the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS. 📈 Robust growth due to strong equity returns   The Swiss fund market continued its positive performance in the first half of 2024 and grew by a double-digit percentage, thanks in particular to strong equity returns. The volume of the Swiss fund market reached a new high of CHF 1,507 billion. 📣 Instant payments in Switzerland   Instant payments were launched in the Swiss market on 20 August 2024. 🌱 A positive signal for Switzerland as leading centre for sustainable finance!   SIX has introduced the new “SIX 1.5 °C Climate Equity” flag to help investors identify companies whose existing business models and future plans are aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Paris Agreement.   Whether a company meets the relevant requirements must be confirmed by an approved reviewer. SwissHacks 2024 🚀: one week since SwissHacks at Point Zero Forum! 📰 Today, we are sharing a reportage from finance.swiss that insightfully highlights our flagship event, SwissHacks 2024. 🚀 The Swiss Financial Innovation Desk (FIND) organized the very first government-supported hackathon, powered by Tenity, to promote financial innovation in Switzerland and beyond. The hackathon took place from June 28 to 30 in Zurich at the SIX Convention Center. 💡Around 100 participants from 15 countries worked on 5 challenges in under 48 hours, harnessing collective intelligence and collaboration to drive financial innovation on concrete market issues. 🎤The winning teams were able to pitch their ideas on various stages, including a VC side-event at Pestalozzi Attorneys at Law, in front of investors, politicians, entrepreneurs, and lawyers, as well as on the main stage of the Point Zero Forum in Zurich. 👤Pascale Bruderer, former President of the National Council, Vice-President of the ETH Board, and entrepreneur, delivered a keynote speech emphasizing Switzerland's attractiveness as a business location. 👥 The pitches were evaluated by a panel consisting of Georges Khneysser, Founder of QBIT Capital, Drew Propson, Head of Technology & Innovation in Financial Services at the World Economic Forum, Schuyler Weiss, CEO of Light Frame, Chetan Tolia, Managing Director and Head of UBS Next, and Alexander Fries, General Partner of Digital Twins Capital. 🎥 finance.swiss’ Tanya König interviewed the winning teams, as well as the initiator of SwissHacks and Head of FIND, Eva Selamlar-Leuthold, about what these platforms mean to them.
