🎥 🍿 Direct from the auditorium of this year's Opening Session, ECTRIMS is proud to share our 40th anniversary film: "What is ECTRIMS?" This short film traces the rich history of ECTRIMS. It starts with the vision of one of our pioneering founders, Professor Otto R. Hommes. And it ends with a tribute to our collective achievements, the incredible progress we’ve made since our humble beginnings, and the community we’ve built over the last four decades. 📖 What notable findings in multiple sclerosis (MS) research have been published over the past month? 💫 In our latest MS Research Updates, we highlight these new findings and more: 🔬 Researchers found specific CD8+ T cell dysregulation that may drive the disease already early, in prodromal stages. This discovery could help identify MS before clinical onset and pave the way for new treatments. 💊Two phase-3 clinical trials found evobrutinib, a Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor, was not more effective than teriflunomide in reducing relapses or disability in relapsing MS. Published in The Lancet Neurology, the study also found evobrutinib was generally well tolerated, but was associated with more frequent elevations in liver aminotransferase levels compared to teriflunomide. 🧠 A new study by researchers from Amsterdam UMC – MS Centrum Amsterdam shows switching between brain states costs more energy in individuals with MS and cognitive impairment. They spend more time in the "default mode network" – engaged at rest or during moments of self-directed thinking – and less in the "visual network." The latest MS research developments are just a click away.
