𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗜𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗥+ Iomico is an IoT engineering company and a Nordic Semiconductor Design Partner with R&D hubs in Poland and Argentina. A smart streetlight is a public lamp that gathers data from various sensors, enables real-time monitoring capabilities, and exchanges data and commands with the gateway (server or other endpoints). This communication is vital for the grid, leading to various protocols available for the industry: cellular (2G, 3G, LTE, 5G, and NB-IoT), RF mesh, LoRa, Wi-Fi, and other medium and long-range solutions. All of these protocols have pros and cons, and deciding what solution to build a lamp network depends on cost, coverage area, bandwidth requirements, power consumption, security, scalability, reliability, interoperability (compatibility with other devices and systems), etc. Analyzing the latest inventions, Iomico points out that you can encounter DECT NR+, the world's first non-cellular 5G technology standard. Iomico believes that DECT NR+ technology benefits street lighting applications and presents new opportunities to provide both a low-cost alternative to existing solutions and unrealized applications in street lighting. If you are considering developing a new product based on DECT NR+ and the Nordic Semiconductor's nRF91 Series, follow this link, where you can contact Iomico for a consultation: https://lnkd.in/dWPcAmyX #DECT #DECTNR+ Nordic Semiconductor iomico

𝗥𝗙𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗥+ If you are about to get started developing with DECT NR+, a new DECT NR+ Evaluation Board from RFmondial can be used to experience the features and capabilities. It consists of a Nordic Semiconductor NRF9161 as a modem running the RTOS Zephyr, and a Raspberry Pi Compute Module (CM4) as host processor running Linux. RFmondial tells us that the current board is designed - but not restricted to - the following applications: - Unidirectional audio FT to PT - Unidirectional audio broadcast from FT to multiple PTs  - Bidirectional (talk-back) audio from PT to FT - Evaluation and Measurement of e.g. PER, range - Unidirectional Video transmission - Spectrum Analyzer And in terms of availability? RFmondial says that the board including firmware and host application is available now. 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗢𝗙𝗖𝗢𝗠 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘇 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗥+ Here's some exciting news! In the next issue of DECT Today there will be a video discussion in which Professor William Webb will question representatives of Nordic Semiconductor, Wirepas and the DECT Forum regarding DECT NR+. So who is Professor Webb? He was one of the founding directors of Neul, a company developing machine-to-machine technologies and networks, which was formed at the start of 2011 and subsequently sold to Huawei. The technology he had helped develop became the genesis for NB-IoT which went on to become a 4G and 5G standard for IoT connectivity. Prior to this, Professor Webb was a Director at Ofcom where he managed a team providing technical advice and performing research across all areas of Ofcom’s regulatory remit. He was the youngest President of the IET – Europe’s largest Professional Engineering body and also spent three years providing strategic management across Motorola’s entire communications portfolio, based in Chicago. Amongst other topics, Professor Webb will be asking our team about their plans to get momentum for DECT NR+ - getting the standard widely known and ideally with competitive supply for chips and modules. The issue of DECT Today in which this video discussion will appear will be published in October. This is one you are not going to want to miss! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗥+? With so much happening, and so fast, many questions are being asked about DECT NR+. Over the last 12 months, the DECT Forum has hosted a series of NR+ webinars, and we've assembled the questions received during the webinars and on other occasions. For example, we were asked how DECT NR+ compares to a 2.4GHz connection like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) in regard to range and throughput? Would a logical use case be DECT NR+ technology applied in a remote control for mobile machines? If you'd like to know the answer to that question and many, many more, please follow this link: https://lnkd.in/dC7_6GpE 'DECT #DECTNR+

For all interested in DECT NR+, we invite you to join our webinar "Getting started with NR+ PHY" on August 28th.   The DECT NR+ standard is steadily maturing, and with the release of nRF Connect SDK v2.7.0, we introduced the DECT NR+ PHY API as experimental.   In this webinar, you will learn how to get started with the NR+ PHY. We will start with an overview of the DECT NR+ standard before moving on to what we are currently offering on the software and hardware sides. Lastly, there will be a live demo showing how to program your devices for NR+ and use the Hello NR+ sample in the nRF Connect SDK to send NR+ packets between two devices. Join us live at any of the two available time slots, August 28 at 9 AM CEST or 5 PM CEST: https://hubs.li/Q02LHc7J0 #DECT #nRFConnect #DevZone DECT Forum
