Roger Knubben has been appointed as Interim CEO of Sunrock from October 14, taking over from Johannes Duijzer who co-founded the company twelve years ago and has spent seven years as CEO. An inner city jewel in the making. Redevco is developing a new climate-neutral, mixed-use building on Mönckebergstrasse in Hamburg, Germany with a cradle-to-cradle approach to help improve sustainability. 450 tonnes of concrete, in addition to steel beams, has been recycled from the previous building and reused to stabilise new basement walls, minimising CO2 emissions. And the facades are being built differently – one is constructed to last for 200 years while others are “screwed not glued”, meaning greater flexibility for any future dismantling or recycling. Clean, thermal energy from Lake Geneva; improved insulation and thoughtful recycling/ upcycling of building materials where possible. An example of how Redevco is focused on helping cities to become more sustainable and liveable, this time by transforming the iconic building on Rue de la Croix d’or in Geneva into a high-quality, multi-use and multi-tenant location fit for the future. Once completed in 2027, the Rue de la Croix d’or building will have a green roof to help insulation and CO2 neutral cooling and heating thanks to the use of water from Lake Geneva as a source of thermal energy. In addition to a refurbished C&A store over two floors, the building will also have around 3,500 m2 of total office space.
