𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 – 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 ❤️📱 At the forefront of digital health innovation, Carity is transforming cardiac rehabilitation by providing ongoing motivation and tailored training routines for heart attack survivors. We recently spoke with Aliaksei Tsitovich, PhD, computer scientist, and co-founder of Carity, about the revolutionary journey of this app launched in Switzerland in September 2024. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: 💪 Aliaksei and his team at Evoleen embarked on an ambitious journey in 2019 to extend the effectiveness of cardiac rehab through continuous patient engagement. They recognized the existing “black hole” phase post rehabilitation, where patients often feel abandoned. Carity was conceived to fill this void, ensuring patients remain motivated and empowered. Collaborating closely with cardiologists, Carity's solution integrates 24/7 patient monitoring, wearables, and tele-consultations, refining these elements through multiple iterations to deliver a seamless cardiac rehabilitation service. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗽𝗽: 📈 The Carity app personalizes rehabilitation goals across three pillars: Heart: Monitors key cardiac indicators like HRV and VO₂ max to visualize long-term health improvements. Mind: Utilizes psychological questionnaires to help patients maintain mental well-being. Performance: Tracks exercise achievements weekly, encouraging patients to adhere to optimal exercise routines. 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 🏥 On September 29, 2024, Carity introduced the "Blended Care" solution, integrating comprehensive support into rehabilitation clinics. This model includes: Enrollment: Initiated through a clinic with QR code-based onboarding. Onboarding: Guides patients in syncing their Apple Watch and app. Task Completion & Reporting: Patients share weekly progress with their Care Team for feedback and personalized advice. Long-term Support: Encourages sustained lifestyle changes beyond the initial rehab phase. Exclusive Availability & Specialized Coaches 👩⚕️ Currently exclusive to Switzerland’s App Store, Carity boasts a team of specialized coaches, trained by reputable institutions, including the University of Basel. They provide in-depth health coaching, aligned with guidelines from the Swiss Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Society (SCPRS). An essential partnership with the Future of Health Grant program by CSS and EPFL Innovation Park will kick off in early 2025, promising more refined health processes through collaborative insights. After a 12-week free program, patients can extend their use to a full year with a subscription fee of CHF 510.
