How about optimizing your runs based on your breathing rate? You’ll need: 🎧 your headset 📱and an app “It's kind of adjusted from what you normally see in these apps with the heart rate,” Patrick Helfenstein , the CTO of BreezeLabs says on the new X-Health.show episode. “So we show you, how your breathing rate changed along the track you were running, and then we give a trend indication. And that's the most interesting part for the users. So you basically have certain paces, they are adjusted for elevation and then you put your breathing frequency. So you would say if you run at four minutes per kilometer, you breathe at that frequency, five minutes per kilometer, your breathing’s a little bit slower and so on. That is usually an exponential curve what you want to see is how this changes in time. So if you become more fit the curve will shift to the right.” BreezeLabs works on the solution for runners that have a chance to be much more precise than heart rate devices. Detecting breathing is one thing they work on, ML algorithms is the second one.
