🏁 Marking a new chapter with Škoda Motorsports ! Bcomp’s #ampliTex and #powerRibs bio-based materials take center stage in the Škoda Enyaq RS Race, following our successful collaboration with WRC2 contender Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 car. The Škoda Enyaq RS Race represents a pioneering blend of cutting-edge design and sustainable technology and Bcomp’s natural fibre materials can contribute to the significant 316 kg reduction in the car’s overall weight compared with the standard Enyaq Coupé R. And just like the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, it features numerous parts made from Bcomp’s sustainable flax composites. Our materials offer exceptional stiffness and damping properties, while achieving up to 85% CO₂ emission reduction from cradle to gate, with enhanced end-of-life options. From flax to future: How Bcomp is contributing to Fribourg's growing bioeconomy What an inspiring evening we had at the Bioeconomy Forum in Fribourg organised by Fribourg Development Agency FDA (PromFR) at the bluefactory site. Christian Fischer, our CEO and Co-founder, joined over 200 experts from Switzerland and neighbouring countries to highlight the potential of our bioeconomy, uniting universities, research institutes, clusters, and economic sectors. The forum emphasised the value of the bioeconomy as an ecosystem where everything transforms, and nothing is wasted. Fribourg’s vibrant setting is a beacon of innovation, driving biomass valorisation and sustainable economic development. With over 90 team members and growing, Bcomp is proud to contribute to Fribourg’s economy by harnessing new talents and collaborating across a network of leaders to push  the boundaries of high-performance, sustainable materials. Bcomp team rolled up their sleeves in the Fribourg mountains! Our recent volunteer day with #VolontairesMontagnes | #Bergversetzer was a real treat! This year, our team once again had the chance to volunteer in the Fribourg mountains. With the Swiss Alps as stunning backdrop, we spent two days helping our farming neighbours to restore the local landscape. From cleaning up the pastures by removing thorns and thistles to clearing the land of invasive wild roses despite the rain, we got our hands dirty while enjoying the fresh mountain air, each other's company and all in a positive good mood. And of course, no farm visit is complete without a hearty meal! We enjoyed delicious local cheeses made right on the farm and homemade pastries. A big thank you to Les Précornes and to the Gros Fonds domains for welcoming us, your hospitality and the meaningful conversations! 🌊 The solar-powered ferry by Marservis d.o.o. paves the way for sustainable waterborne mass transportation The first of its kind PROeco vessel featuring Bcomp’s flax-fibre composite #ampliTex has begun ferrying passengers around the Port of Rovinj in Croatia on Adriatic Sea. Developed in collaboration with Marservis, our high-performance materials were used in almost all non-structural and semi-structural components such as bulkheads, seats, ceilings, or side lines. By opting for natural fibres over standard materials such as glass and plastic, the PROeco is a testament to carbon emissions reduction at the manufacturing stage, while offering end-of-life options. “By combining renewable energy with natural fibre composites, this vessel represents the advent of a completely new stage in eco-friendly mass mobility on waterways,” said Paolo Dassi, Marine & Industry Manager at Bcomp.
