Our plants in Switzerland and the US celebrate significant safety milestones! Last month, our colleagues in Bloomsburg, USA, held a safety celebration to mark a year with no work injuries resulting in lost work time! Anyone who knows a little something about the manufacturing industry will be able to recognize this fact as the outstanding accomplishment that it is. To thank the over 300 employees for their efforts and strong commitment to working safely every day, plant management treated all shifts to ice cream and a specially made t-shirt. Across the pond, our only production facility in Switzerland also had cause for celebration: the Sevelen plant has gone a year without accidents, an achievement that showcases the dedication and diligence of all employees who uphold the highest safety standards every day. In addition to a delicious buffet, each of the around 130 employees also received an Autoneum first aid kit – a symbol of the plant’s dedication to safety and a reminder of the goal to remain accident-free. 🎉 We are proud to announce the grand opening of our third plant in India, a key automotive market 🚗 With the opening of our new plant in Pune, Autoneum gains access to the third of the four major automobile production centers in India 🇮🇳 ⚙️ The engines and assembly lines are rolling, and production is officially in gear at the new production facility – the Pune plant will supply both local and international customers with noise-reducing light-weight components for the interior and exterior of vehicles of all drive types. We were honored to have CEO Eelco Spoelder, Andreas Kolf, Head Business Group Asia and Ashish Kaul, Head Operations India & Thailand, join us at the inauguration ceremony to officially open the doors of our new Indian facility, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in our journey. Our running Rosslyn ladies did us proud once again at the SPAR Women’s Challenge 2024! 🏃🏾♀️ 🏃🏻♀️ 🏃🏼♀️ In celebration of South African ♀ Women’s Month (August) ♀, thirty of our female colleagues from Autoneum’s joint venture plant in Rosslyn took part in the Tshwane leg of the running competition, which is part of the SPAR Grand Prix series. The popular road race attracts thousands of recreational runners and top professional athletes every year, making it one of the largest events of its kind in the world. 🤩 🙌 Participants could choose between the 5 km or 10 km course. Do you know what LOTO stands for? It is short for Lockout/Tagout and designates a set of procedures that prevent accidents in our plants by ensuring that equipment and systems are always shut down and inoperable before any maintenance or repair work. What sounds simple enough is a key element of employee health and safety in manufacturing and therefore of critical importance to Autoneum. Our colleagues in Asia recently dedicated an entire month to the crucial topic of safety; after all: time spent on safety in the workplace is always time well spent! Training sessions took place across our various production facilities in China and India, with the varied program ranging from safety trainings to on-site emergency response drills and knowledge competitions. In addition, all plants carried out comprehensive inspections to ensure the correct and consistent implementation of Autoneum’s safety standards and operating procedures. Row, row, row your dragon boats – from China to Czechia! 🤩 🙂 The Dragon Boat Festival 🐉⛵🏁 is one of China’s most cherished holidays, featuring a great variety of traditional and creative events such as painting fans 🪭, cooking sticky rice dumplings – called Zongzi – 🥟 and the symbolic elimination of bad luck 🎯 represented by the five “venomous creatures” snakes, scorpions, lizards, toads and centipedes. Our Chinese colleagues in Shanghai and Taicang held their festivities already on June 10, as the annual festival is traditionally celebrated every year on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. A little later, our Czech plants in Bor and Rokycany decided to make a splash at the Pilsner Dragons Cup. 🐲🏆 The plants entered two teams in the competition, with each dragon boat consisting of twenty paddlers 🚣♀️ 🚣🏽♀️ and one drummer. 🥁 The impressive debut of our Czech teams was celebrated over a shared meal after the race provided by Autoneum. Focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence Over the past few months, several of our plants in the US, Europe and Brazil held dedicated workshops to ensure quality, safety and excellence in Autoneum’s daily operations. As part of the location’s annual Quality Week, more than 150 of our colleagues in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, celebrated quality and boosted standardization in the plant’s manufacturing processes. The event was packed with activities, contests and games designed to engage employees and deepen their commitment to Autoneum’s production standards. The two-day leadership training in Volduchy, Czechia, for members of plant management and a group of 24 shift foremen included various workshops on how to ensure and promote a safe workplace culture. Such training sessions on occupational health and safety are provided regularly by our Group Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QEHS) department with the goal of reducing accidents and injuries and enhancing employee well-being at our plants worldwide. Last but by no means least, our Brazilian plants in São Paulo, Gravataí and Taubaté organized numerous trainings between January and July of this year, covering the entire supply chain. The forty participants were able to brush up their knowledge in different areas such as customer service, material and production planning, logistics and control processes, inventory management and many more.
