Lights, camera, action! The 58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is now underway, as film talent and enthusiasts from across the globe descend on the picturesque spa town in the Czech Republic. This year's festival arrives at a time in which appetite for foreign language film is growing amongst younger populations in both the United Kingdom and United States. Research commissioned by Allwyn has found this is partly driven by an interest in new cultures and stories, both of which foreign language films offer. These findings help remind us at Allwyn of the vital importance of our partnership with the European Film Promotion's Future Frames Programme, supporting the visionaries of tomorrow by helping empower emerging directorial talent to reach their full potential. At the Future Frames Award Ceremony taking place on July 2nd, one young filmmaker on the programme will receive a fully funded scholarship to Los Angeles, courtesy of Allwyn, from which they will get to network and learn from the very best in the business. But before then, the Future Frames filmmakers will get the opportunity over the coming days to refine their craft through dedicated workshops at our on-site Allwyn Lounge, working alongside other talented people from the world of film. A group of amazing colleagues from Allwyn took a day off from the office and got their hands dirty to breathe new life into an outdoor space that brings joy to its community every day. With under a month to go until the 58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival commences, we are delighted to announce the continuation of our partnership with the European Film Promotion’s Future Frames programme as it enters its 10th year. Allwyn's partnership will build on the important work that the Future Frames programme does in helping talented young emerging filmmakers from across Europe realise their potential. Every year, Future Frames selects ten European film school students and graduates who have been recommended by member organisations of the European Film Promotion to present their short and medium-length films to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival audiences. Allwyn's partnership funds a scholarship to Hollywood for one director, providing them an opportunity to network with the filmmaking industry and learn from the very best in the business.
