Just two weeks ago, we explored the exciting world of MPEG #Immersive standards at the 5g-mag.com/insights agenda. We went beyond the technical specifications (which are crucial, but can sometimes feel dry) and saw them come to life through practical applications using 5G-MAG #Reference #Tools. Leading in open-source tools for MPEG-I standards are two key projects: 👉XR Media Tools: This project focuses on extending the popular glTF 2.0 format for 3D assets with MPEG-I Scene Description extensions, to allow for richer #XR #experiences. 👉V3C Immersive Platform: This platform provides a comprehensive toolkit for building and deploying applications based on MPEG-I standards for #volumetric #video. Information and slides are available at 5g-mag.com/insights provided by Nils Duval and Valérie Allié. The 5G-MAG Reference Tools supporting these reference implementations are available at developer.5g-mag.com, contributed by Qualcomm, InterDigital, Inc. and Philips. Kudos to Patrick Fontaine, Thierry Filoche, Etienne Faivre d'Arcier, Thomas Stockhammer, Imed Bouazizi, Bart Kroon, Ronald Schimanofsky, Chris Varekamp and the support in coordinating the software additions by Nils Duval (Motion Spell). 3GPP MPEG The Khronos Group Metaverse Standards Forum #MPEGI #V3C 5G-MAG MEDIA ACTION GROUP \ WHERE MEDIA MEETS CONNECTIVITY https://lnkd.in/dkHsseqm
