Tracking Alberta CCS Progress: 2 Years Later Two years ago, 25 carbon capture and storage (CCS) hubs were granted permits. Where are we now? 📉 2 hubs have been canceled. 🏢 3 hubs converted to sequestration leases, solidifying their storage plans. 🛠️ 9 hubs have drilled at least one well, signaling progress toward operational readiness. The industry is advancing steadily, though challenges remain. This map provides a snapshot of how CCS projects are evolving—an essential tool in the race toward reducing emissions.
