Is your ROAS target choking out your Shopify Store's growth? That nearly happened to a brand my team skyrocketed by 1,361% last year. Crazy growth, but here’s the kicker… When we first teamed up, they were spending $15k a month on ads and getting a 5X ROAS...but the current agency wasn't scaling sales. The owner was pumped, but I told him, "Hey man, you're leaving A LOT on the table." He was confused and said, "What do you mean? We're getting a 5X ROAS!" We ended up doing a deep dive on his numbers and showed how much money the brand would make at scale, even if ROAS came down. We explained, "Here's the deal. ROAS doesn't buy Christmas presents. Profit does. And your profit is going to go way up if we scale your sales, even when ROAS comes down." He was confused so we used the Conversion Engine Ad Budget & Growth Planner (message if you'd like a copy) to show him that based on his numbers: → At $150k/mo in revenue, he would make ~$50k/mo in profit (keep in mind margins were super solid) → At $500k+/mo in revenue, he would start making ~$175k/mo in profit, even when ROAS comes down Based on our estimates, I'd estimate this brand ended up increasing profit on the year from $600,000 to probably close to $3,000,000, even though ROAS dropped closer to 2.25. It was a huge win for the brand and a great lesson on remembering that ROAS isn't the only metric you need to pay attention to when growing an eCommerce store. And if you set your ROAS target too high, you can choke your brand's ability to grow...without even realizing it.

Not all Google Ads are created equal! Across North America, conversion rates for Google Ads vary wildly. "Physicians and Surgeons" and "Pets" take the cake at 13%, while "Apparel and Fashion" lags behind at 2%. Do any of the results surprise you?
