By ensuring accessible workspaces for people with disabilities, especially during emergencies, we can create a more diverse workplace that can increase productivity and innovation. Ensure the safety of your staff, especially during emergencies. This involves creating a plan to assist a worker with a disability in an emergency and making your emergency information easily available. Give an employee tailored emergency response information if you are aware that they might require assistance in an emergency due to a permanent or temporary impairment. For example, how an employee: >who uses a wheelchair can safely exit a building in the event of a fire >with a hearing disability, who cannot hear an alarm, will be notified in the event of an emergency >with a visual disability will identify and navigate emergency escape routes Want to build a healthy, high-performing work culture? Join a one-day workshop that is perfect for leaders, organizational well-being ambassadors, and/or department representatives. Learn to take a holistic, integrated approach to build a workplace that thrives and how to build a culture of physical and psychological safety, health, and performance (in alignment with the Canadian Psychological Health and Safety Standard).  https://conta.cc/3y8CaJ9

Is incremental investment in health and safety worth undertaking in your workplace? A systematic review was done to understand the evidence of the costs and consequences associated with workplace health and safety programs.  There is strong evidence supporting the economic benefits of disability management programs carried out in multiple sectors and ergonomic programs and other interventions to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) in the manufacturing and warehousing sector. There is moderate evidence supporting the economic benefits of ergonomic and other MSD prevention programs in the following sectors: health care, transportation, and administrative and support services. That is why it is important to ensure that employees have an ergonomically sound workspace at home or are provided with one. Before beginning their work, staff should complete and sign off on a checklist to ensure they are prepared for success. Check out this article and let us know your thoughts! We think companies should report on well-being to support accountability, brand, reputation and the well-being of all stakeholders. But it can be hard to know what to measure, let alone what to report on. This article gives some considerations. Currently, Wellness Works Canada is working on developing an index in alignment with the Canadian Well-being Index, the OECD metrics and the UN's ESG measures. We'd love to hear what you think should be included.
