Today, Vale Base Metals was proud to take part in Make-A-Wish Canada’s Trees of Joy event at the Fairmont Royal York—a day filled with joy, hope, and the spirit of giving. 🎄 This incredible event pairs Wish children, who are facing life-threatening illnesses or celebrating remission, with corporate donors to create personalized holiday trees and unforgettable memories. Our team of volunteers, including our CEO Shaun Usmar, Chair of Make-A-Wish Canada, decorated two beautiful trees for Nicolas and Alice. To make their holidays even brighter, we also donated gifts from their wish lists, carefully selected to bring extra cheer to their families this season. After the tree reveal, volunteers joined the Wish families for a special brunch to listen to their stories of courage and celebrate their continued resilience. It was a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we come together as a community to support those who need it most. We are deeply grateful to Make-A-Wish Canada for organizing this meaningful initiative and to our employees for their time, care, and dedication. Events like Trees of Joy truly capture the spirit of the holidays—compassion, generosity, and the power to make a difference. 🎄 #ValeBaseMetals #MakeAWish #TreesOfJoy #Community #HolidayGiving

On November 6, Vale Base Metals operations in Ontario opened our doors to approximately 75 students for Take Our Kids to Work Day. From Sudbury to Port Colborne to Mississauga, from underground mines to research and development labs, the students had a day packed with interactive activities, exciting tours, and insightful presentations, all aimed at showcasing the diverse career opportunities within the mining and metals industry. Take Our Kids to Work Day is an annual event that allows students in the ninth grade across Canada to shadow professionals in real-world settings. Created to help students explore career paths and better understand their parents’ work environments, the program encourages young people to start thinking about their futures. We hope the students enjoyed their time seeing our workplaces and hearing from our talented employees. We were honoured to be able to provide them with a meaningful look at our operations, see what their parents do at work (pretty cool, right?), and highlight the variety of career opportunities available in the modern mining sector. #TakeOurKidsToWorkDay #WeAreValeBaseMetals #JobShadow

At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we will remember them. Today, across our Canadian operations, we pause to honour those who have served and continue to serve, within our communities and beyond. This is a day to come together in quiet gratitude, to hold space for their stories, legacy, and lasting impact. We remember those who gave so much, the families who supported them, and those who continue to carry the weight of their sacrifice. May we reflect on their contributions, their courage and resilience, and carry forward their memory with respect and humility. Lest we forget.

Today, November 8, is Indigenous Veterans Day in Canada, a day to pause, reflect, recognize, and honour the immense contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people to Canada’s military service. Indigenous Veterans Day is not only a time to celebrate their service but also to acknowledge the unique challenges and injustices they faced during and after their time in the military. These determined volunteers often had to overcome significant obstacles to serve in uniform, from learning a new language and adapting to cultural differences, to traveling great distances from their remote communities just to enlist. Many Indigenous veterans returned home to find their sacrifices met with unfair treatment and systemic barriers. As we continue on Canada’s journey of reconciliation, let us use this day to reflect on these past injustices and commit to learning from them. By understanding and acknowledging these truths, we can work towards a more inclusive and respectful future for all. #IndigenousVeteransDay #Remember #LestWeForget

Vale Base Metals is proud to congratulate Guy Poole, a member of our team at Voisey’s Bay, for being awarded the prestigious Order of Newfoundland and Labrador (O.N.L.) for his remarkable contributions as a diabetes advocate. This is the highest honor in the province, recognizing individuals who have made significant impacts in their communities. 🏅 For the past 19 years, Guy has led ‘Liz’s Walk,’ a heartfelt campaign named in memory of his wife, Elizabeth, who passed away from diabetes in 2004. Through his dedication, Guy has walked over 4,000 km across Newfoundland and Labrador, raising nearly $400,000 for Diabetes Canada. His efforts have not only raised crucial funds but also inspired hope and awareness about diabetes. As highlighted in the O.N.L. announcement, “Mr. Poole has created awareness, gathered an enormous amount of community support, raised thousands of dollars and, most importantly, inspired hope amongst those who live with this disease every day.” Congratulations, Guy, on this well-deserved recognition! #DiabetesAwareness #CommunitySupport #Inspiration #OrderOfNewfoundlandAndLabrador #LizsWalk

The Sudbury community has spoken, and the iconic Vale Base Metals superstack will be commemorated with a monument in its honour. Votes were submitted online and in-person at our Sudbury Open House at Dynamic Earth on September 25. Over 5,000 votes were cast, and the monument proposal emerged as the clear winner! The next phase of the project will focus on bringing this vision to life, with a commitment to honouring the superstack's historical significance to the community in a unique and creative way. The superstack and copperstack at the Copper Cliff Smelter Complex have been decommissioned following the successful completion of the approximately $1 billion Clean Atmospheric Reduction (Clear AER) Project, a cornerstone initiative in our ongoing, long-term environmental stewardship program. The Clean AER Project has enabled our Sudbury Operations to eliminate 100,000 metric tonnes of sulfur dioxide emissions each year (equivalent to 1,000 railway tanker cars of sulphuric acid), bringing emissions down to 30% below the provincial standard and paving the way for a greener, cleaner future for us all. #ValeBaseMetals #EnergyTransition #WinningVote #HonouringThePast #TransformingTheFuture
