Visualizing Data Our CTO, Brent Mauti, participated in a panel discussion at Autodesk University yesterday, diving into the exciting integration between the Autodesk platform and Power BI. As part of the beta testing team, we had the privilege of experiencing how this data connection enhances the way we visualize and manage project information. Brent shared our testing insights, highlighting the potential of streamlined workflows, improved decision-making, and the significant level of connection that this integration brings to future project management. #technology #thoughtleadership #autodesk #projectmanagement

Dare To Drop On October 2, we proudly participated in our second Drop Zone with Easter Seals Ontario. The event invites people to push the limits of their comfort zone by rappelling down a skyscraper in Downtown Toronto to support their fully accessible Summer Camp programs that allow youth with disabilities to live actively and courageously. Together, 24 brave Studio members overcame their fears and contributed to making lasting change for children with disabilities and their families. #TFCommunity #CommunityImpact #PushYourLimits

Empowering Future Innovators On Oct 9, we hosted a Lunch + Learn with Visions of Science , an organization dedicated to advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) among racialized youth from low-income households in the Greater Toronto Area. Eugenia Addy, PhD, Desiree Sylvestre, Tammy Ebuen, MEd, CFRE, and Christopher Parker led an insightful workshop at our Studio, highlighting the systemic barriers these youth face. During this interactive session, the speakers and our Studio members shared personal stories that sparked a meaningful discussion about the vital work Visions of Science is doing to create opportunities and drive positive change in our communities. We are proud to partner with Visions of Science through our #TFMovesTogether initiative from October to December 2024 to support their life-changing work. #TFCommunity #lowincome #sciencetechnology #stem

Making Waves In August and September, we supported Water First Education & Training Inc., an organization working to address the water crisis affecting Indigenous communities across Canada. With 13% of First Nations communities under water advisories—and 25% in Ontario, where we're based—this issue demands urgent attention. Their programs, including Drinking Water (training program for Indigenous peoples in water-treatment), Environmental Water (addressing source water like lakes and rivers), and School Water (educating indigenous youth to spark a passion for water stewardship), are vital in ensuring long-term solutions. Through our #TFMovesTogether initiative, we raised $13,025 to help Water First continue their incredible work. We’re proud to contribute to their ongoing impact. #CommunityImpact #CleanWater #SustainableFuture #TFCommunity

Learning Together for Truth and Reconciliation This year, our Social Impact Specialist Madeline Buzzi and our People + Culture Business Partner Nina Woock, CHRL launched a season of learning to deepen our studio’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. It began with a Breakfast + Learn on September 10, featuring a video of a smudging ceremony led by an Indigenous leader, followed by shared knowledge. Designed to uncover the truth about Canada's history with Indigenous peoples and empower action toward reconciliation, the learning was made as accessible and impactful as possible, recognizing the diverse levels of understanding among our studio members. Last week, in advance of National Truth and Reconciliation Day, they shared daily resources focused on key concepts. These included the origins of Truth and Reconciliation, the lasting impacts of residential schools, the local context of Indigenous struggles in Toronto, and the importance of building meaningful partnerships. They also highlighted the relevance of Indigenous design paradigms in the AEC industry and the significance of land acknowledgments as a step toward reconciliation. Today, the learning journey culminated in a Q&A session, allowing us to reflect on these learnings and discuss the meaningful steps we can take toward reconciliation, both within our studio and beyond. Thank you Madeline Buzzi and Nina Woock, CHRL for helping us learn.
