As we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th, the Canadian Institute would like to acknowledge the ongoing contributions by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people in shaping Canada as a diverse and inclusive nation. On this day, we honor the survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. Through our conferences, the Canadian Institute has contributed to encouraging meaningful conversations and fostering dialogue between Indigenous leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders. Our conferences provide an important platform for discussing key issues like reconciliation, governance, economic development, and cultural preservation, while amplifying the voices of Indigenous peoples in Canada. As we reflect on this important day, it is a time for all of us to learn about Indigenous peoples, to listen to their stories, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation.  #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation #CIIndigenousAffairs #IndigenousConsultation

Today we shine a light on our incredible Senior Sponsorship Coordinator – Linda Parke. Linda has been with the C5 group for about 6 years, progressing her skills through many different departments. Thank you, Linda, for all your hard work throughout the years! We caught up with Linda to learn a few fun tidbits about her... > How many years have you worked for C5? I have worked at C5 for approximately 5-6 years; I started at CI many years ago, took a rather long sabbatical, (around 22 years), and returned to the fold in 2021. >Have you always worked in your role? If not, what was your career progression to get where you are now? When I started at CI, I was a junior, junior, admin. CI took a chance and gave me the opportunity to show that someone without traditional ‘office skills’, could strive and thrive in a structured office environment. I learned and worked in different departments, finally settling in Event Management, with some sponsorship cross-over duties. Working in all these areas really gave me a great overview of what we truly produce – a great product and service. During my sabbatical, I also developed the skills that sponsorship required, which I could bring back to the company. >What is your favourite C5 Group event or portfolio to work on? I don’t really have a favourite event or portfolio that stands out - working different portfolios brings unique challenges and a great opportunity to learn about the subject matter and people you work with. Like a puzzle, it shows what each department brings to the table to give a complete picture of a finished event. >Describe your team in 1 word! There isn’t one word to describe my team, but a combination of Fun; Professional; Appreciative; Supportive, and so much more! They are a great group of people, and I am constantly learning from them! > Secret fun fact about you! I currently hold my Red Seal Certificates as a Chef, as well as a Master Baker-Pâtissier. Lots of transferable skills: You can work anywhere in the world, as everyone has to eat, and with C5, you can work anywhere as long as there is a desire to learn! #ACIConferences #CIConferences #C5Conferences #ThankYou #Employee #Spotlight

Employee Spotlight! Today we shine a light on our incredible Web Solutions and Technical Architect- Ryan Ohlinger Ryan has been with the C5 group for 5 years, where he has been growing professionally and evolving within the company, facing new challenges, and progressing his skills through all levels of our Website IT Team. Thank you, Ryan, for all your hard work. We caught up with Ryan to learn a few fun tidbits about him. Check them out... > Career progression at C5: I began my career at C5 as a Web Developer and was promoted to Web Solutions and Technical Architect after three years. Recently, I have taken a leading role in our company-wide modernization project, in partnership with two other colleagues. In this role, I have been actively involved in the ongoing implementation of new CRM, ERP, and CXM systems, migrating our file services to SharePoint, and further enhancing AI integration across various company operations. > Favorite C5 Group portfolio: Among the various portfolios I’ve worked on, the military events have been particularly captivating. The advanced tech showcased at these events, such as sophisticated communications networks and autonomous systems, not only aligns with my professional skills but also ignites my personal interest in cutting-edge technology. Describe your team in one word: Dynamic > Secret fun fact about you: A fun fact about me is that I have a deep appreciation for electronic music, particularly genres like house, deep house, melodic house, trance, and techno. Listening to these dynamic genres while working not only motivates me but also energizes my focus. This passion for audio extends beyond just listening; it drives my interest in developing software that enhances how we experience and interact with music, especially through the integration of AI technologies. Stay tuned for more employee highlights from our incredible team! #ACIConferences #CIConferences #C5Conferences #ThankYou #Employee #Spotlight
