  • 🌍 Iran's Ambitious Solar Power Initiative to Address Energy Shortages ☀️ Iran has unveiled an ambitious plan to build solar PV power plants capable of generating 15 GW of electricity. The project, which will be developed in three phases, requires $8.3 billion in private investment and aims to reduce the country’s reliance on liquid fuel in thermal plants, addressing its ongoing energy shortages. As part of this initiative, Iran is also ramping up its domestic solar panel production capacity with a new 1.8 GW production line, set to increase total capacity to 2.3 GW annually. A total of 23,000 hectares of land will be allocated for solar farms, with solar panels expected to generate $1.3 billion annually. By 2025, Iran plans to add 10 GW of renewable energy capacity, a significant increase from the current 7% share of renewables in the national energy mix. The country’s eastern and southeastern provinces, known for their abundant sunlight and wind, will play a pivotal role in this transition. This shift toward renewable energy is a critical step in addressing Iran’s energy imbalance and reducing its dependence on fossil fuels. #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #Iran #EnergyTransition #GreenTech #ClimateAction #SolarEnergy #EnergyStorage #Alberta #Calgary #Edmonton #yyc #yeg Read more: https://lnkd.in/gwfW6JgV

  • 🌍 Taiwan’s Solar-Powered Fishery Project: Innovating for Sustainability ☀️🐟 Taiwan has been making significant strides in its transition from nuclear energy to renewable sources like solar PV and wind power. As part of its goal to install 20 GW of solar PV capacity by 2025, Taiwan is exploring innovative solutions such as solar-powered fishery projects. These projects combine solar energy generation with fish farming, optimizing land use and providing economic benefits to rural communities. The solar PV systems can be floating above fish ponds (outdoor) or installed on fish farm building rooftops (indoor). Outdoor projects come with stricter requirements, including a 40% land-use restriction on agricultural land. Developers must also secure approvals from local authorities, environmental assessments, and agricultural land use permits. While these projects offer great potential, there are risks for investors, such as the need for fishery management expertise and navigating agricultural land use restrictions. Additionally, coordination between EPC contractors and fish farmers is crucial, particularly for outdoor projects. Taiwan's focus on sustainable energy and economic growth is paving the way for future clean energy innovations! #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #FishFarming #SolarPV #Taiwan #GreenTech #Agriculture #EnergyTransition #SolarEnergy #Alberta #Calgary #Edmonton #yyc #yeg Read more: https://lnkd.in/dN_AYKXG

  • 🌍 How Uganda Can Benefit from the Solar Energy Industry ☀️ Uganda's economy is currently dependent on hydroelectric power, but this comes with challenges, including unstable water levels and limited coverage, especially in remote areas where essential facilities like hospitals often lack electricity. This has sparked a growing demand for solar power as a viable and sustainable energy solution. Solar energy offers a reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative. With abundant sunlight and tax-free status, solar can significantly reduce power costs for both households and industries. Mini-grid storage systems further ensure continuous energy access, even in off-grid areas. In addition to providing cleaner energy, solar power can improve public health by reducing toxic emissions from fossil fuels, addressing environmental hazards. Beyond energy, the solar industry holds the potential to create employment opportunities, both directly within solar companies and indirectly through training, sales, and the installation of solar products. The growth of Uganda's solar energy sector can contribute positively to human welfare, enhance the economy, and provide a sustainable path forward for the country. #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #Uganda #EconomicGrowth #ClimateAction #GreenEnergy #EnergyAccess #PublicHealth #SolarIndustry #Alberta #Calgary #Edmonton #yyc #yeg Read more: https://lnkd.in/gBCaBsMp

  • 🌍 Thailand Launches World’s Largest Hybrid Solar-Hydropower Project 🌞💧 In a groundbreaking move toward sustainability, Thailand has officially started operations on the world's largest hybrid solar-hydropower project in Ubon Ratchathani Province. This innovative project features 144,000 solar panels installed on a reservoir, covering an area equivalent to 100 football fields. With 45 MW of peak solar power and an additional 36 MW from the existing hydropower dam, the system provides continuous electricity generation—solar by day, hydropower by night—using the same grid infrastructure. This hybrid solution tackles the issue of land scarcity for solar power by utilizing unused dam surfaces while still allowing local fishing activities. Thailand plans to expand its floating solar capacity with further projects, including a smaller installation in northern Thailand. While the country continues to invest in renewable energy, fossil fuels, particularly natural gas and coal, still play a dominant role in Thailand's energy mix, contributing significantly to carbon emissions. However, Thailand is committed to phasing out coal plants and expanding its renewable energy capacity. Additionally, Thailand has set an ambitious target to become a hub for electric vehicles, aiming for 15 million EVs on the road by 2035.
