Leading growth for SMEG in Canada has not been without challenges, coming out of a distribution model, but with great promise and opportunities and so much more than metrics. Today marks 2 years of SMEG going direct in the Canadian Market. Yes, we grew the company sales to unimaginable heights in these two short years. And yes, the brand presence was built from scratch and now is a relevant, coveted and desired name in our Canadian market. I am very proud of all of these achievements but what stands out to me most, is the people and culture of Smeg Canada. To achieve unimaginable success, you need great people who will stand beside you. Together, we faced challenges head-on, united by a shared purpose and the drive to accomplish ambitious goals. I wanted to foster a culture of collaboration and community in our team. The team's commitment to achieve unimaginable results comes from a ‘get it done’ mentality and the genuine passion and dedication to see Smeg win and each other succeed. They show up every day, like storm troopers and for that I am grateful and privileged to be beside them. We are in the trenches together, and winning as a team because of this. We have so much yet to achieve. We have much storytelling around the innovation and history of this exquisite brand. The incredible dedication from Pinball Foundation in their work with youth is an unmeasureable kindness to our community. Last month Smeg Canada Inc created a night of culinary excellence in support of this great foundation. The Dolce Vita chef battle was born. 5 celebrity chefs battling it out through 3 courses using mystery ingredients and to throw in a twist of a mystery SMEG appliance had to be used to create a recepie. The vibe in the room was intense and electrifying! Michael and Diane Clemons have created a foundation that contributes to our community in a truly meaningful way as we help future leaders rise up with equal opportunity. Not only does the foundation place over 100 students through post secondary schooling. They have created a network of mentorship around these kids like a blanket. As I said that night, for me it was the mentorship program that is the highlight. It’s a buddy system for kids to walk their way up during the process and after graduation. I’m fortunate to work for a company that is dedicated to giving back. Our heritage is in creating exquisite appliances but also deep rooted in community and sustainability. Smeg Canada Inc and October's Very Own (OVO) launch our highly anticipated limited edition collaboration. Given OVO’s strong influence in both fashion and lifestyle, we saw a clear alignment with SMEG’s commitment to blending high-end design with functionality. OVO’s iconic status in global culture made them the perfect partner for SMEG Canada’s first locally-driven collaboration, one that celebrates both our design ethos and the rich Canadian connection. For me it has been a labour of love, working on this collaboration. As the shift of the worlds of streetwear and urban design collide, it is super exciting to be a leader in the urban luxury space. The collection features three products: the mini fridge, two-slice toaster, and kettle, available in striking black and white colourways. Embellished with gold accents and the unmistakable OVO Owl logo, this collection marks OVO’s first foray into the home appliance space, offering a new way for fans to bring the brand's style into their kitchens. Last weekend Smeg Canada brought to the design and architectural world our luxurious appliances in our breathtaking booth designed by designer VAS GOULOPOULOS of Vast creative company. It’s incredibly hard to tell a story that has a heritage over 75 years in a 20 x 40 booth however; we were able to ignite our statement in innovative luxury appliances, design, art and our proudly Italian heritage at this booth. It was jaw dropping to see it in action. We hosted over 100 clients and partners at our booth on opening night. We were serving espresso martinis made by the baristas using our incredible automatic grind and brew espresso machines. Thank you to all our trade partners who attended our VIP client night.
