L’automne est la saison parfaite pour jouer à la balle molle et pour redonner à la communauté! En septembre, nos équipes du Québec se sont rassemblées pour un tournoi de balle molle et pour amasser des fonds pour Centraide du Grand Montréal. L’équipe du Québec avait choisi de remettre le montant des frais d’inscription à Centraide, pour financer leurs activités communautaires; une somme de 417 $ a été amassée. --- Fall is a great season for softball, and for giving back to the community! In September, our Quebec teams got together for a day of running the bases and raising funds for Centraide du Grand Montréal. By donating their registration fees from the tournament, our Quebec team raised $417 to support valuable community programing through Centraide.

At Sleeman Breweries, we’re taking specific action in our commitments to reconciliation. At our September Town Hall meeting, our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee presented a learning moment on the history and impact of residential schools. We’re donating $10,000 to True North Aid, an organization that supports northern and remote Indigenous communities. This month, we held our annual Indigenous Makers Auction for our staff to help build awareness of and support Indigenous artists. Funds raised in the auction will be matched by Sleeman Breweries and donated to True North Aid. Across the country, our employees are showing their allyship by wearing orange shirts and remembering that Every Child Matters. Lors de notre réunion générale de septembre, notre comité sur la diversité, l’équité et l’inclusion a fait une présentation sur l’histoire des pensionnats et sur leurs conséquences. Nous remettrons 10 000 $ à True North Aid, un organisme qui soutient les communautés autochtones nordiques et éloignées. Nous avons également organisé, ce mois-ci, un encan d’objets de fabrication autochtone pour notre personnel, afin de mettre en valeur les artistes autochtones et les soutenir. Les fonds recueillis lors de cette activité, ainsi qu’une somme équivalente versée par Brasseries Sleeman, seront remis à True North Aid. D’un bout à l’autre du pays, les membres de notre personnel portent un chandail orange pour démontrer leur alliance et reconnaître que Chaque enfant compte. Our Future on Tap Scholarship is one way we’re helping open doors for underrepresented students and living up to our commitment to Better Beer, Better People, Getting Better. These two scholarships of $2,500 each are awarded to students who identify as Women, Non-Binary, Transgender or Two-Spirit who are enrolled in brewing studies or STEM programs at Canadian post-secondary institutions. We award one scholarship to a student studying in French and the other to a student studying in English. Congratulations to this year’s winners Michaela (Physics and Philosophy, University of Calgary) and Angelica (Biology, Université de Saint-Boniface). --- Grâce à notre Bourse d’études pour une relève en effervescence, nous contribuons à ouvrir des portes pour les groupes sous-représentés et à respecter notre engagement envers une bière meilleure, des gens meilleurs et devenir meilleur. Ces deux bourses de 2 500 $ chacune sont offertes à des personnes qui sont aux études et qui s’identifient comme femmes, non binaires, transgenres ou bispirituelles, inscrites à des études brassicoles ou dans des programmes STIM dans un établissement d’études postsecondaires canadien. Nous remettons une bourse d’études à une personne inscrite dans un établissement francophone et l’autre à une personne inscrite dans un établissement anglophone. This summer, the crew at the Sleeman Retail Store and Taproom grew a bumper crop of tomatoes, basil and onions in their “Spaghetti Sauce” garden. They donated their harvest and contributions from our staff to the local food bank. In total, they were able to share 60 lbs of fresh produce and 75 pounds of dry goods to help families in our community. #LifeAtSleeman --- Cet été, l’équipe de notre magasin et bar Sleeman a fait une récolte exceptionnelle de tomates, de basilic et d’oignons dans son potager « sauce à spaghetti ». Le personnel a remis la récolte, ainsi que d’autres dons, à la banque alimentaire locale. Elle a remis un total de 60 lbs d’aliments frais et 75 lbs d’aliments secs en vue d’aider les familles de notre communauté. #ChezSleeman
