About us
At OTIP, we not only understand the education system, we believe in it. Owned by Ontario’s four education affiliates (AEFO, ETFO, OECTA and OSSTF) and directed by a Board of Trustees, OTIP was built on the belief that educators would be better served by a not-for-profit insurance advocate that was part of the teaching community. This remains our philosophy today. We are committed to providing insurance benefits that offer the very best value to our members. Our deep understanding of the education community enables us to provide personalized, high-touch service solutions that meet and exceed expectations. Today, OTIP has grown to over 600 employees and now provides a full range of group and individual insurance products to not only education employees, but other union organizations as well. OTIP believes in community from the inside out. We support the communities in which our members live and work through charitable programs such as the OTIP Bursary Program, OTIP Sponsorship of School Projects and Initiatives, OTIP Community Fund and OTIP Teaching Awards.

This year OTIP (Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan) was very generous and gave all of us employees a volunteer day! Thank you!!💗 My team was really excited about this opportunity to give back to our community. We packed hundreds of weekend meals and snacks at Food4Kids. 🍊🍌🥕🫘🫓🍪 Food4Kids provides nutritious food packages directly to at-risk, vulnerable children when they are not at school. Each child in the program receives food and snacks to get them through the weekends and holidays. They are a non-profit, donation driven organization. The teacher's are the eyes and ears who are often the ones connecting the child/families with the program.

🌟 Proud of the Curo Team for making a positive impact during our recent Volunteer Day! We rolled up our sleeves and tackled a cleanup at Waterloo Park, transforming our surroundings while enjoying quality time together. A big thank you to OTIP (Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan) for allowing us to dedicate time to our community. It’s rewarding to contribute to our local environment and foster team spirit. Together, we can make a difference! 💚 #Curoiswhy #OTIPiswhy #Orbitiswhy #VolunteerDay #CommunityImpact #Teamwork
